1847 Rogers Bros. is one of the names that the International Silver Company used to market it silverplate flatware. There is no silver value to silverplate, only its intrinsic value as eating utensils. There were several other names used by International for their silverplate, which included the name of "Rogers," such as Rogers Bros. Any flatware which has the name "Sterling" stamped on it is likely 92.5% pure silver. The exception being some very old flatware circa 1800-1900 which may vary in silver content from 80% to 90%, and referred to as "Coin Silver" since its silver content was the same as US dimes, quarters, halves and dollars produced from early US History through 1964, which had a 90% silver content.
