    1. Re: [WEBB] Webb of Wilikes Co., GA Family Tree
    2. Anne- documented? Do you mean have I seen birthcertificates, death records, etc?Heck no - it's Wilkes County, NC, according to some, it's Burke County in the book I copied it from. Reason for confusion being Burke and Wilkes were bordering, then state cut out a cookie and made Ashe in between. These families are widely published on the net, theyre what I call the "Crittenden Webbs" because half of them have that middle name. The book I found is published by the Coffee family, who intermarried with them several times. According to the book, they came here mostly from Orange County, Va., and settled in NC, then some went to Tennessee, and Eliajah went to Missouri and founded Webb City Missouri. You can get his story just by typing in Webb City Missouri at the top of your screen He was rich, and illiterate. They are not, as far as I know, my connections, unless you can go back to some of JimWebb.Rootsweb.com's people in about 1300. Who knows? The record in the book is so detailed I think is is PROBABLY MOSTLY right. Some of it is on Ancestry.com on the free part, by typing in Eliajah Webb or James Webb. The one from NC is Benjamin James. I am going to try to get permission to publish these four pages, and when I do it will be posted on this board if possible, if not on the Webb Surname board. Irene
