Our Jacob Webb (1730-1788-Franklin Co, VA) md. Mary Slly "Mollie" Austin. They were the parents of: Henry "Hal" Webb (1758-Franklin Co, VA-1845-Carroll Co, VA) who md Susanna Cocke/Coche/Cox, etc. Hal and Susanna were the parents of: Giles Webb (1786-Grayson Co, VA-1860-Raleigh Co, VA) who md. Rachel Horton. Giles and Rachel had: Henry Webb (b1823-1865-Raleigh Co, WV) who md. his 2d cousin, Lear Webb. Both Henry and Lear died shortly after Henry's return from the Civil War, in Peachtree, Raleigh Co, WV. [I have the military papers for Henry, pension papers for Lear, then for their minor children after Lear died. Published them in Boone Co Genealogical Society Quarterly.] Hal's line of Webbs came from the Blackwater region of Franklin Co, Va. Hal served in the Revolutionary War. My brother is trying to join the SAR and having difficulty linking Hal with his son Giles. The person helping him with his application tells him there were so many Giles Webbs in that part of Franklin Co, Va at that time, the info we have is not specific enough.
