Without a county of birth, it's a difficult task to begin. I have been following the posts on the Richard/Wm/Christopher/Henry line trying to see if he may descend from one of these brothers. My James moved to NY "at a young age", presumably sometime between 1803 and say 1815, and was in Jefferson Co Ny by 1830, probably sooner. He moved to Wisconsin in 1849. Is there any comprhensive listing of the Webb lineage? I am considering asking my sister's son to do DNA testing to help narrow this down.     3. Unfortuantely I do not have any further information on my James. According to the census 1850/60 and 70, he was born in MA. I have no information on parents or siblings. He married Wealthy Hutchinson, probably in NY circa 1825. His son's biographical sketch indicates that his father (JAMES)removed to NY at a young age. All of James children were born in Jefferson Co NY, then the family moved to WI in 1849. James died between 1871 and 1873. I have tried to connect him to other Webb's in Jefferson Co, NY without success (cannot prove any relationships). I am trying to locate a male Webb descendant, but this may take awhile.
