Bev - There are no names in this posting that I am familiiar with as having been in Edmonson Co Ky. I am from the Webb's who came to Edmonson Co Ky. They were of the Merry Webb Family and were originally from Henry Co Va. They left Henry Co in the 1770's and had traveled into NC and East Tn before the move here to Ky in 1796. Winnie
Did you think these Webb's came to KY? If so try searching in Edmonson Co. KY a lot of the Webb's from NC & TN settled in that area. The Webb's that I am dealing with came out of VA. He was kind enough to give me some hints as to where the Webbs settled in the South. He felt that they all came from VA and scattered to other states such as TN, KY, SC, NC and beyond. Most of them participated in military battles, thus the book that he wrote called "Born Fighting". I bought it in a bookstore, read it and sent it to him along with some photos of my father from WWII. He was kind enough to write a note in it and sign it. He also agreed that the resemblance of these two Webb men in uniform (he and my dad) were "uncanny". Now that he is a governor, I doubt if he has the time to chat as he did before. But, perhaps once he's used to the job he could answer some of your genealogical questions. I'll see if I can come up with his email address. If not, you can just "google" the name of James (or Jim) Webb, VA senator. Good luck! Carol (nee Webb)

I'm a newbie to this so bear with me. Been searching for info for years on Albert Thomas Webb, my maternal grandfather (died before I was born). He was born 25 Apr 1880 in TN. Parents Thomas Albert Webb and Elizabeth (Betty or Bettie) Swanson. Have absolutely nothing further on Thomas Albert -- supposedly Cherokee Indian. Betty's parents, according to her D/C Annie Grey & Henry Swanson...nothing further on them. Albert married Jerusha Moody (born 2 Apr 1881in AL.) on 6 Sept 1901 in Gadsden, Etowah Co, AL. I have found a 1 month old Albert living with the family of Henry and Manda Webb in the 1880 District 12, Roane, TN, census. He is listed as something other than "son". Otherwise, I have found nothing in the 1880 census records. I have Albert living with mother, Bettie Webb, listed as a widow in the 1900 St. Clair Co., Precinct No 6. So Thomas apparently died sometime between the birth of daughter, Mary A. Oct 1894 and the 1900 census. At this time Bettie was living near Bynums and Engles (Jerusha's kin). in 1910 Albert is shown with Rusha and 3 children, Allen, Foman? (no knowledge of a child with this name although there was a Robert Lee born 10 Dec 1906 so that's a question) and Lucy. Could not find Albert & family in the 1920 census, but they appear in the 1930 -- Albert, Rusha, my mother, Lucile and J.D. in Picher, Ottawa Co., OK. Need any info on Thomas Albert, his parents, etc. I just recently had a remaining male cousin, send in a DNA sample to the Family Tree Webb surname project...so am also hoping for some lead there. Any suggestions or help greatly appreciated. Reva Lovelady
1817 birth of David G. Webb in Stokes Co. North Carolina was the oldest Webb that he said he knew about. He said this before being a candidate. Maybe the other side of his family were Rev. War that he knew about. He probably did have Webb's in Rev. War, but hadn't gotten that far back. David G. Webb's family went to Scott Co. Va. and some from there to Kentucky. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Debra Johnson" <fullerbb@verizon.net> To: <webb@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 09, 2006 11:04 AM Subject: Re: [WEBB] NJ-VA Webb connection? > This is my first test since a computer crash- hope it goes through: > > I thought in his campaign, it was mentioned that he had relatives in the > Rev. war.
