    3. Sure wish I knew which county of Va that my John est.1740-1760 and his son William b.abt.1780 were born.It would be so much easier sorting thru these Johns and Williams who were in VA. Past research showed that my John had at least 3 other children and they were, John Jr.,Delilah who married Moses McClellan, Jesse and Joseph. I suspect that John 1740/60 was in Buckingham, the same place where Abraham and Edmund were, but think he may have joined the war effort and possibly settled in N.C.or TN. When I came across the Webb/Anglin line,I thought for sure that one of the Anglin girls had married either my John or William, but after going over info with the Anglin researchers,it appeared that a Cuthbert Webb had married the oldest Anglin lady and your William had married the other. I found that our Williams were not one of the same.I believe yours was born at a later date then mine and the names of their children are different. My William had 14 children. All,but 1 or 2 of them were born in KY.Document on William shows these names for his children:Jonathan(my 3rd gr,grandpa), Mary/Polly, Delila, William Jr.,Edward/Edmund, Margaret, Cynthia, Nancy Ann, John, Susannah Charlotte, Martha, Thomas,Sylvester, & Alexander. All appear to be born bef.1840. Thanks for your help, Diane ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bev Sanders" <bas1952@bellsouth.net> To: <webb@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 03, 2007 5:31 PM Subject: Re: [WEBB] Looking for Webb lines that include these names:John,William, Abraham, Edmund, Thomas, , Albert & Abel. 2. Mike, My great brick wall is also a James Webb, my g-g-grandfather who was born in Georgia about 1820 and died in Coosa County Alabama in 1865 shortly after returning from a Union POW camp. I am sure you have been surprised (as I was) at the great number of James Webbs around this period. Wish our Webb ancestors had used more exotic names so we might easily find and document them. Best of luck on your search. Merrell Arnold Louisville, KY

Lucy Webb married Jonathan Swadener 31 Dec 1822 Greene Co, Oh 3. Valentine Webb married Elizabeth Abshear 16 Sept 1812 in Patrick, Co, VA & Anna Swiggett 1838 in Franklin Co, Indiana. 4. Barbray Ann Webb married Henry Shank 5. Isham Webb married Mary Huston 30 Mar 1820 Franklin Co, Indiana 6. Mary Polly Webb married Martin Kingery 7. Elizabeth Webb married Michael Kingery 7 Feb 1805 Greene Co, Ohio 8. Austin Webb married Elizabeth Webb 14 Feb 1811 Montgomery Co, Ohio 9. James Webb married Elizabeth Smith 24 Dec 1812 Greene Co, Ohio I'm still trying to prove if these where James and Lucy's children but most of them I know are theirs and it's James Webb parents was Jacob and Mary Austin or not. Thank You Mike Webb

    1. [WEBB] New resource for researching
    2. ArchiveGrid (commercial site) I stumbled across this and wondered if anyone on this list had experience with it? I did a search on WEBB and gt 2467 hits! I am thinking about taking a one month subscription (quite reasonable) and pulling up a list of the hits. Just to see if they have things we haven't uncovered otherwise. Before I do, however, I want to make sure none of you already have! Anne "ArchiveGrid is an important destination for searching through historical records, personal papers, and family histories held in archives around the world. _Thousands of libraries, museums, and archives_ (javascript:allcontributors()) have contributed nearly a million collection descriptions to ArchiveGrid. Researchers searching ArchiveGrid can learn about the many items in each of these collections, contact archives to arrange a visit to examine materials, and order copies."
