    1. Re: [WEBB] William Webb will NC 1806
    2. Thelma, The three Webb's of RUtherford County, appear to be connected. I only know of John's date for sure. He was born about 1740. All three on the 1790 Census of Rutherford appear to be about the same age as they are all over 45 years old. Also all three were TORIES and fought for Major Ferguson at the Battle of King's Mountain. All three had their land and belonging confiscated in 1780 because of their resistance to sign an allengience to the state of North Carolina. Someone or Somewhere there has to be a connection to these 3...let me know what you think

Note indicates it may be Merry & a Male. p.107 - Ch.5, 1850 Virginia Census - Webb Families: Montgomery County, VA: Merry Webb - 29, Laborer Martha Webb - 25 Lucy Webb - 5 Albert T. Webb - 1 There are no William Warren Webbs but several listings for William W. Webb, but I checked all and they were all in the later part of the 1800s-early 1900s, too early to be whom you seek. 2. I would be interested (although as a female WEBB descendant I'd have to talk my brother into giving the sample, which I don't think would be hard to do) in doing DNA testing to help untangle the GA WEBBs. My understanding from reading the materials is that the $229 - $299 range is a kit that will test TWO people. I am not aware of any WEBB database currently in existence. That does not mean there is not one. My understanding is that they can give you a range of dates in which you had a common ancestor. For me, researching in early GA, this seems like a viable, if not traditional, genealogical tool in the absence of paper trails. Anne Webb Nelson

    3. John, Hello, has been a long time since we have exchanged email. I was working on an incorrect line for myself. That has changed. Think you may know I am of the William Warren Webb line also. Have wanted to hear your opinions on where you think we stand on the situation. Much searching as you know is on going on several lines, as they seem to tie in. Can't get the ties made just yet, feel much closer. As far as Parents: Seems that several do not go with Wm. and Mary Taberer Webb. The John and Martha Riggens just see nothing on this, presently I have not felt correct, but do not rule out things. I am not sure I remember correctly who you think possible parents for Wm. Warren Webb are. Nonie and I share information regularly, she phones also.. Do you have Isaac Webb son of Giles' information? Giles has son Isaac b 1647-1650 Mar. Mary Bedwell at age 31 with son Robert, who has son John b. 1692. Isaac married in Virginia, then they go to Delaware later returning to Rowan and Iredell Counties. Wonder if there could be another marriage of Isaac. Robert Webb ties in close as do others. Nonie thinks we are near a break thru. Hope so. Like to hear what you think. 1. [WEBB] DNA Testing for Webbs
    2. I have always been interested in DNA testing as proof of my ancestors. The current cost seems to be in the $229 - $299 range depending on which test you choose, but that's not a lot of money to spend in today's business world. I would be most interested to test with some known descendants of Jesse Webb from Jefferson Co., Tenn., who served with his brother John Webb in the Rev. War. Are you interested too? If someone has already started a Webb database, please bring me up to date. Please send your responses and/or opinions to me personally, or to our list. Jim Webb in Jacksonville, Florida
