Is any one out there related to the Webb family of Sullivan County, TN? One's inparticular are George Webb Jr. and daughter Jane Webb. Jane Webb b. abt 1810+ married John Himes/Hines. In John Himes' will he leaves the use of his land to Thomas Carroll (b. 1827)...and After Jane Webb Hines dies..then it is to be sold and procedes to go to Jane's father George Webb Jr. (decd.) heirs..and to Johns Hines Sister, Susannah Himes Hughes heirs, and to his sister Pollie's Hines Cross's heirs...but John did state that there were notes owed toThomas Carroll that were to go directly to Thomas Carroll after John died....there has to be a reason for all this consideration on John Himes part to Thomas Carroll. ALSO, I find that an Annis Carroll and her Husband George S. Hicks received one acre of land from John Hines..What is the relationship between the Carroll, Hines, and Webbs? Does anyone know the answer? Forgive me on not posting dates..I don't know them..My guess is mid 1800. By 1880 Thomas Carroll is living in the Hines home with Jane Webb Hines and John Hines is dec'd.. Thomas lists her as Mom in law..I can't figure that one out either...Jane Webb and John Hines are thought to be Childless and if there were children they were not named as heirs..The Carroll family was also related closely to the Hicks, Cox and Boyd's also of Sullivan County, TN.. Jan
Jim, Where were your first two generations of Webb's born? The William you show born in 1805 is a good time frame for my William who was born probably in England. Claire KinKaid

I am descended from the Samuel Webb/Rebecca Paine Webb line through their son Moses. Moses and his family settled in Wayne Co., Ohio in the early 1820's (he rec'd a land deed for service in War of 1812) and, as far as I can tell, were the only ones from this family in the area. I have lots of information on Moses, his wife Maria and their children. Would be glad to share with anyone interested or anyone who might connect with Central Ohio Webb's. I am trying a new angle to see if I can trace some of my family tree. In the Froning from Westfalen and Rust/Lubbers from Ostfriesland I found that Mary Catherine Froning b. 25 Oct 1857 was married to Omer Hazzard Webb b. April 7, 1856 on 12 Mar 1879 in Silver Creek Township, Stephenson County, Illinois. I have pictures of Omer, Mary and their children, Harry O. and Ruth. Omer Hazzard Webb is the brother of Andrew Jackson Webb b. November 27, 1844 in Illinois who is my grandfather. The parents are Joshua Webb b. Jan 3, 1802 and Mary Ann Seely. Their parents are William Webb and Elizabeth Roup. This is as far as I progressed with any certainty. Some of out fellow researchers have given me information on some of these people but as yet I have no information that will stand up to scrutiny. One of the possibilities is descending from John Webb and Mary Boone through Samuel Webb and Rebecca Paine. So far I can find no descendants from Samuel and Rebecca. One son of William Webb and Elizabeth Roup is names Thomas Paine Webb. August 12, 1808. If anybody has any information on this line please help me out. Jim, Chehalis, Washington
Hi everyone! I'm new to your list, so excuse me if I am interrupting a topic.. I'm looking for information on Jane Webb b. abt 1810 + who married John Hines/Himes/Hinds. I always thought they were childless, but noticed on the 1880 Sullivan County, TN Census that Thomas Carroll is in her household and is listed son n law. My question is who did this Thomas Carroll marry? The Carroll family wound up with possession of the Hines land. I hope someone out there can help. Regards, Jan
