    3. Hello all, I am new to the list, and I am looking for information on my elusive GGG-grandfather, Reuben Webb, said to have been born in 1803 in Tennessee. From his first marriage (wife unknown), he had children Reuben (b. 1835), Clarissa (b. 1839) and my GG-grandfather, Gray Pierce, (b. 1838 in Arkansas). From his second marriage to Nancy ?, he had the following children: Margaret (~1851), John W.(~1853), Mary A.(~1854), William R.(1856), Thomas(~1858), and Sarah(~1859). Reuben and several descendants came from Tennessee through Arkansas and settled in Texas. Reuben, Gray Pierce, and my Great-grandfather, also named Gray, have appeared in various counties in Texas, including Milam County, Burleson County, Walker County, and Victoria County. Does anyone have any information similar to this? While I have run across many Reubens out there, this one seems particularly hard to find. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks! 3. Hi I have recently joined the list and would like to post my interests. I have Webb's in 19th century Wiltshire, UK mainly Melksham, Bradford on Avon & Calne. I have lost one branch of my tree between the 1871 census & the 1881(no sign of them on the 1881 census CD). They are Henry(bn C1839) & Annie(bn C1843) WEBB both born in Melksham. In 1871 they had 3 children Arthur born in Swindon C1866, George born in Melksham C1869 and Ann born Melksham 1870. As I can not find any of them on the census CD I wondered if they had emigrated somewhere. By the way Henry was a house decorator/carpenter. I am also Membership secretary of the Webb One Name Register - a member of GOONS which aims to bring together, index and co-ordinate all researchers, pedigrees and references to the WEBB(E) surname (and variants). The information to be placed in a central register for the use of members, in order that they may be assisted in their own research. We produce a bi-annual journal and hold a lot of data for anyone looking for records in the UK. 2. Bonnie, I am stuck back in Tennessee also. I have a Hiram Webb who married a Rebecca Blalock and he migrated to Alabama and Mississippi. Hiram died young in an accident; however, he had a bunch of children before he died. There are several family researchers who are trying to connect him up to his parents but we are doing this part time and have't been able to make any break throughs. He supposedly came from North Carolina but so many did and there seems to be a gazillion Webbs. So, I know I am going to have a long hard road ahead. I hope you find your connection. Rick

My grandfather was Osias Denton Webb, Jr. He married Mary Tennesse Lindsey in 1899. I have been searching on the web now for several weeks, for know nothing of my grandfather except when my mother was born, his wife died (giving birth) and he left her with her maternal grandparents. He later remarried to whom, I don't know. I got so excited yesterday! Tuned in to a Giles County (TN) web site and discovered the following: Taken from the 1850 Census Jeremiah Webb M Age 44 (apparently the father) Rachel F Age 45 (apparently the mother) Jacob M Age 21 Mary F Age 18 Osias D. M Age 16 (must be my ggrandfather) Sarah F Age 13 HIRAM M Age 10 Frances F Age 8 Rebecca F Age 6 (N) Tobias M Age 4 Rachel F Age 1 I would be very much interested in the land sale or any other info that you might have that would possible tie in with these Webbs. I do know my ggrandfather married a Tucker. I believe my grandfather is buried in Marshall County TN which makes me think they moved a great deal. Any new info appreciated. Mary Wise
