    2. Sylvestor Webb is brother to my ancestor Alexander (Pig) Webb. Alexander Webb's daugther, Cordelia married Elijah Hopson (Hobson) in Fort Gay, WV. I wonder if Alexander Webb was in the same regiment? Do not know much about Alexander except birth and apporximate death. On someone's web page Sylvestor's Webss gravestorne is picture, probably the one for the Lawrence co. Ohio web pages. This helps some also since there are so many Webbs on the differnt Censuses for the KY/Ohio area. Is any one else researeching Alexander Webb son of William Webb, Sr.? Mary Harbour

    3. Congratulations on your discovery. Just a general answer to your question about the death certificate: "Why the Ohio listing for the parents?" The son is much more likely to know where his dad was born than the census taker, who very often marked everyone being born in the same state as the census itself. This census was for a county in Kentucky. I would also look for more documentation to support either location. Best regards, John Sullivan

    3. Hi, My James Webb lived in KY and was injured in War of 1812 and sent home to die of his wounds. I am not sure if this could be the same one. As the story goes, he took his eldest son's place - so he was an older man. My James did not seem to ever use a middle initial or name. So he is really hard to identify. His wife's name was JANE. I was working on an incorrect line for myself. That has changed. Think you may know I am of the William Warren Webb line also. Have wanted to hear your opinions on where you think we stand on the situation. Much searching as you know is on going on several lines, as they seem to tie in. Can't get the ties made just yet, feel much closer. As far as Parents: Seems that several do not go with Wm. and Mary Taberer Webb. The John and Martha Riggens just see nothing on this, presently I have not felt correct, but do not rule out things. I am not sure I remember correctly who you think possible parents for Wm. Warren Webb are. Nonie and I share information regularly, she phones also.. Do you have Isaac Webb son of Giles' information? Giles has son Isaac b 1647-1650 Mar. Mary Bedwell at age 31 with son Robert, who has son John b. 1692. Isaac married in Virginia, then they go to Delaware later returning to Rowan and Iredell Counties. Wonder if there could be another marriage of Isaac. Robert Webb ties in close as do others. Nonie thinks we are near a break thru. Hope so. Like to hear what you think. 2. The light has finally come on. With a little help from all of the tidbits that has come up lately about James Scott WEBB of Johnson Co Ky 1910 Johnson Co Ky Household 156/204 Scott WEBB WM 52 M 27 Anna 41 Albert son 24 Junetta son 22 (Dave??) Herbert son 19 Haskel son 17 Minta daughter 13 Bertha daughter 7 Melissa Blankenship sent a query about James Scott Webb who married Anna/Angeline SPEARS James S WEBB married Angeline SPEARS 27 September 1882 Johnson Co Ky. Did not know that Scott's first name was James. Mary Ann listed some WEBB marriages of Johnson Co Ky. Ann SPEARS WEBB is living with her son Dave WEBB. She is listed as a widow. So her husband James Scott WEBB died between 1910 and 1920. Kentucky Death Index had a listing for Scott WEBB age 68 died in Johnson Co died 9-07-1918 Scott WEBB death certificate Scott WEBB SEX: Male Color: White Married Date of birth: May 20 1850 AGE: 69 years 3 months 17 days Occupation Secon on R.R. Chrstopher E WEBB born about 1869 (information on Children 1860 Floyd Co kY, 1870 Floyd Co Ky, unable to find in 1880 Census) Why the Ohio listing for the parents E-Mail from Eleanor McCallum "Found that Sylvestor WEBB family as well as Nancy WEBB m John WELLS ent to Lawrene County Ohio after Civil War-fought on wrong side I guess" >From Minnie Anderson The Syvester WEBB sp Nancy WARD lived in Floyd Co Ky, served in the 39th Ky Inf, buried in Woodland cemetery, Ironton Ohio, is the same Sylvester that I sent information on yesterday. He has a stone in the Civil War Section. He enlisted at Peach Orchard Ky, served in the same outfit as my ggrandpa Nelson and several other kin. I did not find Sylvester's family in the 1880 Lawrence Co census, they may have been in Greenup. We have a number of CW veterns from KY buried in Lawrence Co, moved to escape the hostilities toward them" Katherine could be a second wife to Sylvester. David being the informant would not have known his grandmother that had died in 1876. Also his grandparents were living in Ohio so that could be why Ohio was listed as birthplace. Sylvester WEBB is the son of William WEBB (Sr) and Nancy (GREEN?) William WEBB (Sr) is the son of Capt John WEBB and Mary (ADAMS?) Capt John WEBB is the son of George WEBB George WEBB is the son of John WEBB and Mary BOONE Please feel free to add information or point out where I may be thinking wrong Kayleene Lowe kaybowlo@webtv.net
