    1. [WEBB] Parents of Stephen WEBB?
    2. Mika J
    3. Hello list, I had Stephen S. WEBB born 12 Nov 1847 in Washington Co., AR, as the son of Elijah WEBB. Also, Jefferson M. WEBB born 22 Jan 1854 in Gabriel Mills, Williamson Co., TX as the son of Henry J. WEBB. I recently received my copy of the 1880 Census. On page 496C, Dst 172, Pct 7, Stephens Co., TX, FHL Film 1255327, Natl Arch Film T9-1327 I find: Jefferson M. WEBB, relation = Self, Sex = M, Marr = M, Race = W, Age = 26, Birthplace = Texas, Father born in IL, Mother born in TN, Occupation = School Teacher. Mary L. WEBB, relation = wife, Sex = F, Marr = M, Race = W, Age = 20, Birthplace = MO, Father born in MO, Mother born in MO. Occupation = Keeping House. Clarence H. WEBB, relation = Son, Sex = M, Marr = S, Age = 2, Birthplace = Texas. Stephen S. WEBB, relation = Brother, Sex = M, Marr = M, Race = W, Age = 33, Birthplace born in AR, Father born in IL, Mother born in AR. Margaret J. WEBB, relation = Cousin, Sex = F, Marr = M, Race = W, Age = 23, Birthplace = AR, Father born in MO, Mother born in MO. Martha R. WEBB, relation = Cousin, Sex = F, Marr = S, Race = W, Age = 5, Birthplace = Texas. Frances E. WEBB, relation = Cousin, Sex = F, Marr = S, Race = W, Age = 1, Birthplace = Texas. So, can anyone tell me if Jefferson and Stephen are brothers or cousins and was Stephen's wife Margaret a cousin to Jefferson? Also, does anyone know where Jefferson died. If anyone needs a lookup, I have the entire 1880 census. 3. I'm new to the list and would like to find information about the parents of Nathan LEWIS, b. abt 1738, Berks Co. PA. (then Lancaster Co.) d. abt 1801 in Sullivan Co. TN., at that time in N.C. He married Mary WEBB, b abt 1745 in Berks, PA . She died abt 1816 in Sullivan Co. TN. Their children:David, William, George, b. 1769, Eleanor,1776, Jonathan, 1778, Washington, and Mary. Washington moved to Miss. Territory, now Madison Co. Alabama. The other children moved to Indiana. I have a very complete lineage of this family in Indiana, but am very interested in locating the birthplace or information of Nathan's parents, David and Eleanor LEWIS. I hope someone can help. 1. Re: [WEBB] Webb baptisms found Islington 1904/1905 + 1891 Census Islington
    2. Hi Sue, I'm really a bit of a novice but my hunch is that if your Webb's soda was 'by Royal appointment' then they would have been listed in Pigot's directory which was a trade directory. I think there's a link to it on 'Cyndi's List' - a most excellent website if you've never used it. Otherwise it might be worth writing to the Museum of London, London Wall, London EC2 [tel: 0207 600 3699] or the Victoria & Albert Museum, Cromwell Rd, London SW7 [tel: 0207 938 8500]. Also try the Rootsweb London list - london-'@rootsweb.com, there are lots of v. knowledgable people there. You could also try writing/emailing the Society of Genealogists. Good luck. Paula

    3. We had conversed once before re the Webbs in/around Islington & I would love to make the great connection across the pond. Is there any guidance you can provide as to how I might locate info on this Webb's doublesoda company that existed in Islington? A museum, historical society, etc.? Even bottle clubs/collectors generally would have some knowledge of the people who ran the company. Do you know: doesn't the words "for her Majesty the Queen" being printed on the bottle simply mean they were contracted or hired to supply this article to the Royal Household? Appreciate any guidance. Perhaps if I get something on the family, something will fall into place. Thank you for posting this listing! Very kind.
