??????Don Barton???????????? I never said any thing about removing any one, or what server to use ? I did send this note to the list that MSN and MSN Hotmail is bouncing. The part about being unsubscribed was from the rootsweb computer TO explain this Lists are set up to * auto* remove all address's that bounce after 3 bounces , when MSN and MSN Hotmail start bouncing , those people keep getting removed, NO I dont do this, it is automatic by rootsweb to keep the bouncing address's down I dont understand why you would want to leave a list just because I was letting it know what was happening ; I will not do this in the future . The rest was just a note in case a few are tired of being unsubbed all the time. <><>Back to silence<><>Dan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Barton" <donaldbarton@hotmail.com> To: <WEBB-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, December 22, 2001 5:04 AM Subject: Re: [WEBB] Just a note about HOT MAIL > Just who are you to dictate what mail server a person is to use. Irene -- I know that John's mother's name was Rebecca. I have not been able to find his father, he apparently died before 1860. I have been looking at each of the Webb's in the 1850 SC census, as this is reportedly the place of birth of the last child - Daniel about 1849. Before 1844, the family was in NC. Known children of unknown and Rebecca were -- John Turner b. 1831 Thomas C. b. 1836 Christopher C. b. 1837 Nancy b. 1842 William b. 1843 (married Priscilla in Pike Co., AL by 1870) Mary b. 1844 Daniel b. 1849 Thanks for the info and I'll keep searching the 1850 census. Mark
Well, Mark, bells with lots of echoes. That makes 7 John Turner Webbs I know of - I swear, I'm going to start collecting them. The last one died about a year ago in Laurinburg, N. C., and I have no idea which branch he was, but here is what I have: My5 greats grandfather was John Webb, and in 1735 he started getting King's Grants in Anson Cnty,, N. C. which later became Richmond. In his will in 1794, he leaves his entire estate to his Grandson, John Turner Webb, and a shilling each to his three sons!!! John Turner Webb (this one) was the child of his son Robert. His son Hendley moved to Edgefield, S.C, where he was in Revolutionary war, and named HIS son John Turner Webb also. Another net cousin from Mississipi has one in her family, also. And there is another one on Genforum whose father was James Webb, and I don't know him, either, but I did know that one who was the grandson of the aforesaid Hendley lived in Clark County, Ala., and there seem to be a lot of Webbs down there. Do you know the names of parents of this John Turner? I night be able to connect you to some of these if you do. Irene Webb Dorsey

John Turner Webb (b. 1831 in NC) m. Martha Jane Walker (b. 1837 in AL) in February 1857 in Pike Co., AL. He and his wife appear in the 1860 Pike Co. census. His apparent siblings and mother are also in that census, Thomas C. Webb age 24 b. in NC, Rebecca (mother) age 52 b. in NC, Nancy age 18 b. in NC, William age 17 b. in NC, Mary age 16 b. in NC and Daniel age 11 b. in SC. John and family are in the 1870 Pike Co. census as is Christopher C. Webb (age 33 b. in NC) and Rebecca, Nancy, Mary and Daniel. William and wife Priscilla are also in the census. Does this ring any bells with anyone? Mark Monroe

While we're on the subject of Shelby TN. Has anyone ran across a Sherrod Webb that lived in Millington, TN, buried in West Union Cemetery, died 9-15-1949. Informant was Elizabeth Webb, they adopted 2 girls, Jimmie & Catherine. Sherrod also had a daughter by Ella Wilson? we think, named Annie Frances Webb she married a John Lee Brown. If anyone knows of this person we would appreciate any information. Sincerely, Younnie Wingate Veal younnie@eraclass.com
I will look in my Webb history and see if there is a Reuben Webb. Veldonna
