Irene" If you will go to Google and place "Robert Webb Descendants" in the search block, it will take you to the Booneinfo Site and give you what they have on this family line. It used to be at: http://booneinfo.com/boone/rwebb.html However, the evidently reconstructed the site and changed the addresses. This line was contributed by Eileen Rice, helen@ptsi.net, so any questions should be directed to her. In addition to the WEBB family members you will find many of the CAUDILLs, TACKETTs, etc. Eugene

    3. I am a newcomer to the Webb list. My maiden name was WEBB. My gg grandparents were, William WEBB b 1846 in Maldon, Essex UK and Ann Sarah HARVEY, b.1848 in Woodham Walter, Essex. They emigrated to New Zealand in 1874. I have very little other information about the WEBB side of this family any further back than William. Ann Sarah HARVEY's parents were Henry Harvey and Mary Ann ?? b. abt 1841. Henry Harvey's parents were Thomas HARVEY and Lucy HAM. I'd be very interested in hearing from anyone researching WEBB in the Essex area, particularly anyone able to do 1851 census lookups for this WEBB family. 3. Hello Ann: When I saw you note my heart jumped because I am trying to find the birth place of a Martha WEBB, born in Essex, whose father's name was William. When I checked, my Martha was born in 1834 so she is older than your William. (Which would make him more than a little precocious to be her father!) On the IGI there is a William Douglas WEBB born 1n 1846 in <Ilford> Essex. I don't know if the <> means there is some uncertainty about the information or not. If my Martha is in the IGI I don't have the correct information to identify her. With a little digging we might have brother and sister! 1. [WEBB] Charlie Webb born c1884 in MO or c1881 in Washington Co, ARK
    2. I am still searching for information on my grandfather, Charlie Clifford Webb. What I "know" is that Charlie married Cora Lee Clark c1907 and they lived on a ranch at Bartlesville, Washington County, OK. They had 3 children all born there: 1) Guy Clifford Webb b 1907, 2) Jessie Webb b 1909, and 3) Gladys Irine Webb b 1911. Charlie and Cora divorced prior to 1925 and he went to Ft Smith ARK, she went to Dallas Texas. Charlie died in Ft Smith when my Dad, Guy Webb, was 18 years old. Charlie had a cousin, Hattie, who was known to my family as "Aunt Hattie" but we knew she was really Charlie Webb's cousin. I found Charlie, age 16, on the 1900 census for Washington County, Ok listed as head of house with his sister, Hattie, age 7. State of birth is MO. (no other persons listed) I have a death certificate for a Charlie Webb who died March 11, 1925 in Ft Smith. Parents are listed as James Webb b in Cook Co, TX, and Mollie Jones, born in Washington Co, ARK. Charlie is listed as 44 years old and born in Washington Co, ARK. Thus, he was born c1881. I found a marriage record for James C. Webb and Mary Jones on 19 Sep 1879 in Washington Co, Ark. Does anyone have any information on this family? I would appreciate any information. Thanks, Shirley Webb Cullum

    3. Irene, You are right, However I was reading (yes, I was reading) in parts of things that my cousin had sent to me in "snail mail" that has things about formation of county lands. Wilkes County is the same Wilkes county that is a part of North Carolina. But I don't know how to determine these things now. I do have a webpage that has a list of Georgia and the formations of the counties tho' only in 1820. If this will help you out. You have to know so much about the states when you are doing your research. I feel like I am in school again. I wished I had of listened a little more to my history teacher back then. Then I tell my nine year old the same thing. She listens believe it or not. They are studying the Civil War now and William Penn. This is 4th grade work-can you believe it. And I am listening. (lol). I also have my webb's listed on a webpage and some are Wilkes County, "GEORGIA". Webb's http://www.strictlygenealogyimages.org/pleasantwebb.html I think this is it but if it isn't please let me know. Georgia county Formation is http://www.strictlygenealogyimages.org/gacountyformation.html My info came mostly from the University of Georgia in Athens-Clarke County. Some info came from there but most of it i found on 1820-1865 census. I work there. But it is to scary for me to go on campus any more because of the rapings going on. I don't like to go by myself. they had a real bad one this past week. 2. Irene-- LOL! ok ok I should never have asked! I have gotten a number of family trees which don't even have places and dates -- and with the repetition in the WEBB names -- I consider such trees a waste of a tree <Giggle>. I know who you mean when you say the Crittenden WEBBS. I would like a copy of the tree, though, just because it helps keep the players straight. A. W. 1. [WEBB] WEBB, Benjamin Harrison
    2. suebod
    3. To clarify a confusing issue among our Boone/Raleigh Co, WV Webb family researchers: Evidently there were two BENJAMIN HARRISON WEBBs, born about the same time and place. One was married to Wavel Hinchman, died Mar 1960 in Huntington, Wayne, WV, left a Will in Wayne Co Clerk's ofc, Book 9, p.255, and resided at 372 Michigan St., Huntington, WV at time of his death. (Will filed 28 Jan 1960, with wife as beneficiary.) I haven't identified his parents, but he is not Benjamin HARRISON Webb, s/o Russell and Marietta/Mary Etta Dickens/Peters of Raleigh Co, WV, and one of the three brothers: Harrison, Jesse CROCKETT Webb and AVERILL Webb. These three brothers were all born in Peachtree, Raleigh Co, WV, moved to Boone Co. c1919, just before the death of their mother (1900, 1910 censuses). When Harrison became a young man, he left home, joined the service and fought in WWI, was wounded, returned to Raleigh County, where he lived out his life. He died Mar 25 1946 on a Greyhound bus about the area of Beckley, WV, returning from treatment at the VA Hospital. He was identified and brought home by his brother Crockett Webb, and buried in White's Branch Cemetery, Gordon, Boone Co, WV. [Cemetery; Family members who were there] Both Harrison and Averill fought in WWI and have military markers at White's Branch. THIS/our Harrison NEVER married, was a life-long bachelor, had no children but adored and doted on his many nieces and nephews. If anyone knows of the family connection to the Benjamin Harrison Webb of Huntington, who died in 1960, plz share that with me and I'll be glad to forward you the paperwork I have on him. Thanks. One mystery solved. Sue Webb Bodishbaugh

    2. Anne- documented? Do you mean have I seen birthcertificates, death records, etc?Heck no - it's Wilkes County, NC, according to some, it's Burke County in the book I copied it from. Reason for confusion being Burke and Wilkes were bordering, then state cut out a cookie and made Ashe in between. These families are widely published on the net, theyre what I call the "Crittenden Webbs" because half of them have that middle name. The book I found is published by the Coffee family, who intermarried with them several times. According to the book, they came here mostly from Orange County, Va., and settled in NC, then some went to Tennessee, and Eliajah went to Missouri and founded Webb City Missouri. You can get his story just by typing in Webb City Missouri at the top of your screen He was rich, and illiterate. They are not, as far as I know, my connections, unless you can go back to some of JimWebb.Rootsweb.com's people in about 1300. Who knows? The record in the book is so detailed I think is is PROBABLY MOSTLY right. Some of it is on Ancestry.com on the free part, by typing in Eliajah Webb or James Webb. The one from NC is Benjamin James. I am going to try to get permission to publish these four pages, and when I do it will be posted on this board if possible, if not on the Webb Surname board. Irene

    2. I will write myself a not to find this for you when I can get to my genealogy. I moved recently and the books are all in a closet and the rest in boxes infront of the closet. I remember this tale though, and wil find it in teh Childers/Womack notebook when I can. OK? I did an online search hoping someone has it on their page, and didn't find it. My line comes from Lucretia Childers and Tom Jones, to Lucretia Jones, and segues into the Washington/Fairfax/Lee bunch via Mary Bathurst Jones. Catherine
