    3. Winnie, I've watched about all the Webb's coming into Ky from the Virginia area that mine came from and so far I haven't been able to make any connections. But I suspect that some of them around the Fayette County area could have been related (this is only my guess). Have never been able to prove which family our James Webb came from. Only thing I know (for sure) is where he and Jane Claxton were married. The Webb's all seemed to settle in the same area of Shelby County, very close to the same time in the late 1700's. 3. Hello all, I thought I'd try again and see if I get any bites. I am looking for information on Reuben Webb, b. 1803 in Tennessee. Unfortunately, this is about all I know about him, except that he was married twice and had a total of nine kids. With first wife (name unknown), his children were: Reuben b. 1835, TN or AK; Gray Pierce b. 1838, AK; and Clarissa, b. 1839, AK. With second wife (Nancy ?), his children were: Margaret, b. ~1851; John W., b. ~1853; Mary A., b. ~1854; William R., b. 01/15/1856; Thomas, b. ~1858; Sarah, b. ~1859--all were born in Texas. Of particular interest to me is the Gray Pierce line. I believe he married a woman named Mary McGary, but this is not yet confirmed. Their children were Mary E., Martha and Gray Joseph. This family migrated from Tennessee to Arkansas and a large part of the family could be found in Burleson Co., TX and Milam Co., TX in the latter half of the 1800's; and by the twentieth century, Victoria Co., TX. They were also known to have lived in Cherokee Co., TX and Walker Co., TX. Thanks for everyone's time. I appreciate any help anyone can give me. Jill Hirsch

    3. Hi! Darlene: My Jeremiah Webb, Jr. & Sr. were in the Carolinas, then Georgia and finally in late 1700s in Shelby Co., KY. Jeremiah's son, Meredith Burton Webb m. Elizabeth Hafley/Hasley in PA before they came to KY (my g-g-grandparents). They left KY with Jeremiah for TENN & Meredith was in Maury Co., TN, ca 1820s. His son, my g-grandfather, George Washington Webb, stayed in Maury Co. and Meredith & Elizabeth went on to Pope Co, ARK where they lived the rest of their lives. Later George & family came to Pope Co. where they were during the Civil War. My grandfather, Andrew Jackson Webb, brought his family to SE Oklahoma and then into Texas. He married Elizabeth Ann Manning in ARK. I am quoting this from memory and can be more specific if you find anything interesting. I have a history compiled by Earll Webb in early 1900s that verifies this, my g-grandmother's bible records, and some wills & deeds. Thanks: Betty Darlene Ellis wrote: > Betty: Don't know much about Jeremiah's early life but he settled in Shelby > County, Ky. near Simpsonville. 3. Please, note this is a correction from a previous email I sent. I am seeking information on Great Grandmother ELIZA WEBB Mountcastle born 1861 and married to Willis Lewis Mountcastle born 1856. They lived in Lincoln County, West Virginia. Eliza was reportedly Cherokee. I would like to find some further evidence of blood quantum and where she came from originally. Thanks. I was adopted as an infant and have been looking for geneology information since finding my birth relatives. Jean Fischer

    3. Hi Sam, Thanks....The only problem is i went to the SS office and they looked it up, the lady there said this is strange: He didn't feel out No papers to get his SS#. He is one of those that got his card thru the company he worked for then, Which was Texas Oil Co., He had a SS # and I got that, but no info what so ever. She had to find him by looking at my Great Grand Ma's record, he is listed on hers, but again No Info on him. I really don't know where he was born at, It could be any of the states around VA. Cause some family members swear he was born in Tenn. I can only go by Census reports now. I have found Many Louis Webb's and some even the right age, But when I start digging in records I soon find they are not my line. Anyway If you have more Ideas I would Love to hear them....Thanks So Much.. --- Sam Webb <samsbqa@bellsouth.net> wrote: > Hi: My name is Sam Webb and I too have a Lewis E. > Webb but from KY.
