Withers Settlements were made on Simpson's Creek, the West Fork, river and on Elk Creek... John Anderson and Jonas Webb, who located themselves further up the Elk's Creek. Jonas Webb died late in 1781 early 1782 as Elizabeth Nutter Webb is shown as a widow with a large family in the 1782 tax list for Monongalia county Va and in 1785. Jonas Webb died intestate.
