    1. [WEBB] My John Webb - b. 1786 NC
    2. William "Bill" Webb
    3. Hello List, I will inject my John Webb, 3rd G-Grandfather, again. My John was b. 15 November 1786 somewhere in NC. Date of birth is derived from his headstone in Smith Cemetery Clinton Co., IN and his birthplace is from the 1850 IN census. The 1850 census said he was 62 years old so there is some discrepancy in his birth date. He married an Elizabeth "Betsy" Coy abt 1814 in Garrard Co., KY. Since he would have been abt. 28 at his marriage to Elizabeth, I have a feeling he may have been married once before. Just have no proof. We have evidence he was in or around Switzerland Co., IN abt 1816 for the birth of my 2nd G-Grandfather William Webb. This is basically all we know about him - born somewhere in NC abt. 1786 and came through KY on his way to Switzerland Co., IN. Anyone with a John Webb that might resemble what is known about mine? Regards, Bill

    3. Mell, This group of Webb's is my family. My maternal grandomother was a Webb from this group. Her name was Della Webb and she was born in Coweta County of nearby ca 1889. I have a little bit of information on her siblings, but would be anxious to get any info that you could share. 3. Sam; I can't put your John Webb with my John Webb. I don't know if he ever left Northampton County, North Carolina. I put my query out this week to see what I could stir up. I'm still at a loss to know what happened to John Webb born about 1714 in Nasemond Virginia and his children, John , Jesse, Ethelred, Mary, and Martha. His son Elisha is my 5th g-grandfather I know that John,(1714) left a will when he died in Northampton County. You can see more about that family by looking at my home page at: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/w/e/b/Ottice-G-Webb/index.html Keep searching Sam. Someday maybe we can all find our CORRECT roots. All of you Webb searchers, keep putting YOUR John Webb out there. Go to the mother and father and that will tell you what state they where born an it will list what state their parents where born in.It is not always correct but is a start. John

    3. Hello, I believe these are my Webb's Jay. I will look in my notes and get back to you tomarrow evening. I remember seeing Jesse Webb somewhere. I will look, and let you know. Are you a descendant? I have a ton of Webb's for this County in GA. Like I said I haven't listed everything in that email I had sent. It could be John Webb and Lucy Peggy Clairborn's children. I will have to double Check. Paige Roberts (Roberts-Webb Connections) I have them all wrote down. 3. This is very interesting. Sounds like my Webbs. My John Webb and Peggy Clairborn had a grand-dau. named sarah webb. Sound's like John Webb, Jr. was handed over his father's land. So, what happened to John Webb, Sr...... =( I will see what I can dig up.... This also happened in my Roberts line. I wished people felt that way about land now. Land in Ga is outrageous. have you heard of $10,000 and acre.... I will get back with you. Give me a couple of days. I am on ancestry and I can look on the internet. 1. [WEBB] Charles W. WEBB possibly AR
    2. Has anyone ever come across a Charles W. WEBB in their line? I would like to do some research, but I'm not sure where to start. I have info from a family Bible that states that Charles W. WEBB married Lucy Bell MORGAN . I do not know where either was born or where or when they got married. I do know children's names: Arthur Vernon Earl Harry David Thomas Charles Jr. Fannie Hattie Clara, born 1907 in Oiltrough, Arkansas Hazel Vera, born 1910 I am not even sure of the "W" for Charles' middle initial or his wife's name. Many of the spellings and names have been wrong in this Bible. I am sending for Hattie's birth and death records, but was hoping to find someone with a connection. Vickie Hutto

    3. Looking for any information on a SARAH WEBB, born about 1847, Hamilton County, Indiana, White River Township. Parents JOHN AND ELIZABETH WEBB. I know of one sibling, ELIZABETH JANE WEBB, born 1850. Were did this family go to? Can't find them in the 1860 census. Know that ELIZABETH JANE married in Indiana in 1872 but where did her mother, father and siblings go??? Very mysterious. Could JOHN WEBB have been a civil war casualty?? JOHN WAS born in 1823 in OHIO. I have a feeling that he might be part of the JACOB WEBB family that came to Indiana but have no proof......

    1. [WEBB] Tennessee Webb's
    2. Trying to find out about SADIE ALICE WEBB, born 6 November 1872. Information from death certificate says her father was JAMES WEBB. Sadie was born at Webb's Landing, Perry County, Tennessee, according to family "lore." The Webb's may have left Tennessee, because Sadie was married in 1892, at Baxter Springs, Cherokee County, Kansas, just a couple of miles from the Oklahoma border. She married there at age 18 years to CHARLES HENRY MICKEL, who was 37 years old. Sadie died at Elko, Nevada in 1951. Anyone out there know of the Webb's from Perry County? Any help is greatly appreciated. Karen

    3. Leo; Yep, it is kinda' wet over here. The Red River really gets out of its banks at Bowen and Clay City. Jimmy Webb of ("The Fixit Shop") said his grandfather (or Great) came to Kentucky back early in the century to work in the Coal Mines. He came from around LaFollet Tennessee. I have never been able to find out what happened to John Webb's sons, John, Jesse, and Ethelred. You have to suppose that a lot of Webbs went to Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Missouri, as the migration began. When I was a Navy Recruiter in Jackson Tennessee, (West Tenn.) I ran in to a lot of Webbs that were out of "Exum Webb". They don't seem to be a part of my Webbs. I wonder why my ggg-grandfather William Webb came to Madison County in 1818 "VIA" Buncombe Co., N.C.? There may have been an uncle there, or better yet, his brother John. His wife, Dorothea Winborne had a brother named Jesse Winborne that came to Madison County in 1807. Jesse changed the spelling later on and became "Winburn"....................Yes, every Winburn in Estill, Powell, and Madison Counties is a product of old Jesse. He moved on and died in Alabama. If you have looked at my work, you see that there is an absence of info on John Webbs children. I can't afford a professional genealogist to search North Carolina for them. I only hope that someday a Webb will connect with me and we can share info. Give me a URL that I can find your work. Good hearing from you Leo. 3. Hey Ottice Appears you are having the same problem with your Webbs and I am having with Stella's Tennessee Webb family. Appears that 3-4 brothers came to Tennessee from VA shortly after 1800 and settled in the Anderson - Campbell Co area. Three of the brothers are documented in a book on the Longfield Baptist Church in Anderson Co TN by Edith Wilson Hutton. We are unable to connect the brothers to any Webb family back in VA. It is believed by some that the father was a John Webb. Her Grandfather eventually came to KY to mine coal and her father moved to Irvine. Are you having any water problems in Powell Co. That is where I was born. Leo Versailles, KY
