Winnie: These are the letters I sent to Eva and Doris this morning. Doris: I just sent Eva my history except I did not tell her what counties I suspect my John Webb came to Mid TN from either Edmondson, Warren, or Butler KY Counties. I suspect Edmondson Co. will be the right one. My family emigrated to Ballard Co. Ky and the southern end of Ballard Co. became Carlisle Co. KY. in 1886. My family is just north of the Hickman Co. KY line and part of them were actually in Hickman by the time Carlisle became a formal County. I met Nonnie Webb in Jasper TN that plans a Webb Reunion the third Sunday in Aug every year. It is held at NickJack Dam area off I-24 Exit 158. This year will be her 28th. I don't know who his parents are nor where he was born. His daughter Rebecca Webb stated in the 1880 Ballard Co. Ky Census that her mother ( Martha Patsy Landrum ) was born in SC and her father was born in Ky. Her brother, my gg grandfather stated in the same census in Hickman Co. Sam, Bingo!! My Webbs are the family who settled in the Mammoth Cave area - Martin and Merry. From 1796 both are on the census in the surrounding counties. Warren, Green, Barren, Edmonson and Hart Counties. Hi Guys, I answered Ed earlier about the Ancestry.com.. I don't think that I told that I ordered by mail and check. I don't give or use a credit card over the phone or computer. My daughter had her 'identity' stolen. Not sure just where or how but 2 years later she still carries legal proof of the occurrence. Now to Ancestry .com; maybe they will see this and take heed. Since before Christmas I have to login every time I try to access certain files and about half of the time never can get in. Also have had to change my user name and password several times. Will I renew? NO!! I did get good info early on but the aggravation is too much work. Go to google.com. They have good info under genealogy and give other sites and they are free. I had a bad experience. I signed up for 3 months, and at the end of 3 months they called. I said no thanks I'm not interested and hung up like I do with all marketing calls. They continued to bill me the following month. I called to complain and they said because I hung up they were not able to cancel my account. If they had not had my credit card and they were to call and I was to hang up, they would not continue providing me with access. I stopped the credit card payment right away. Ed, I have been useing ancestry.com for almost a year now, (i was new to all of the resources on the internet, so i jumped into the subscribing to Ancestry.com) I will not renew my membership. The main reason being, I have since found that i can find the same searches at "rootsweb, lds and others on the enternet for free. I personally don't think it's worth the money. Ed, Do what I did. Call Ancestry.com at their 1-800 number and tell them that you would like their free trial, but you dont have a credit card.
