    2. Anne, the info that I have came from work done by my cousins. I spoke to one of them this week and he mentions a family Bible. I think he has it in his possession. I am not sure, I am waiting for him to get back to me. I have Jesse b Feb 12-1778 in NC, d Dec 19, 1842. m Nancy Bozeman Sept 26, 1799 in GA ( d of Meady and Chloe Nelson (Nancy's dob Sept 18, 1775. At one time Mike told me they could not get past Rice. Ricy was a name I tried as a hint from someone else and it worked on ancestry.com, to a link that had minimal info. I have also been told that it might be a nickname, or short for Richard, or a suggestion was to try Ryce. I have an appt this am but plan to keep plugging on this afternoon. I would love to hear what you have. You can email me at slyof32@cs.com if you would like.

    2. Yvette-- There are a couple of cousins working on the Samuel Bozeman line. They had, last time I talked to them, no proof of Ricy being's Jesse's father. If you have such proof, I am sure they would be delighted to hear from you, as would I. I have a great deal on Rice, some of it came from Frank Parker Hudson's research, and some is what I have gotten by pursuing his original leads. I'll be happy to share. I'm so eager to hear what you have. Anne

    3. Hello, My great-great grandfather was Henry Webb born 1855/57 in Tennessee, married to Sarah Holt born 1854 Arkansas. I have not found Sarah's parents. I found Henry's pedigree at www.familysearch.com going back to Theodoric Webb of 1739, as well as the McCarty/Kyle lines going back to 1715-1640. I'm wondering if there are more researchers of this line who might assist me in adding more information. Hello? :) Thank you, Michele (Webb) Zollars Okinawa, Japan

    2. Is This the same Moses? While residing in Reading, Pennsylvania, Moses Webb, at the age of fourteen or fifteen years, enlisted as a drummer under Capt. Noyle (or Naugle) and was engaged in recruiting. During this service he was in the battles at Germantown and White Plains. Soon after this service he moved with his father to the Holston River in North Carolina (later Tennessee). He joined Col. Shelby and was in the battle at Kings Mountain. Thereafter, he moved to Eutaw Springs, South Carolina. He was a sergeant in a horse troop under Capt. McKelvey and Col. Mayham and was in the engagements at Santee, at Simmermen's, and at Tazewell Point. Hannah Sevier was his daughter. He was allowed pension on his application executed 16 September 1818 while residing in Tennessee. In 1832 he was residing in Morgan County, Illinois. EPA 535113; AA 8308; SCH&C, V, 118. Sam, In response to your post about the information from Nonie - The five brothers she spoke of came from New Kent (Henrico) St. Peters Parish through Rutherford County NC and then into Tn., other family members came through SC thru Ga and back up - while some went another route into Ky. All five now have descendants in Tn. If there are any questions from anyone on this they should check with Nonie of course. ~ Winnie

    1. Re: [WEBB] Webb family roots now!
    2. Dave, Your Martin H. Webb was a brother to my grgrgrandfather Merry Alexander Webb. I am glad to find some other family members out there! I too have the book Morris wrote. Some of the early information that he had was a little confused - Martin Webb and Merry Webb came to Kentucky about 1796. Martin had a land warrant/deed in 1796 for land in Logan Co. In 1797 he was on the Warren County tax list. He is on further Warren Co Census with Merry, Martin Jr., Henry and John (sons). This Merry was the father of your Martin H. and my Merry Alexander Webb. The older Merry was married to Martha Jones in Green Co in 1800, to Mary Garrison after 1810, and to Mary Davis in 1830. I have not found who his mother was. Martin Sr. married again after coming to Ky to Nancy Ann VanZant in 1806. He died in 1816. Merry (father of Martin H) was born abt 1775 and died in 1842. Hope this is some help. ~ Winnie

    3. Richard: My Webb linage starts for me at the Marriage of John Webb to Martha Patsey Landrum on Jan 15. 1811 in Williamson Co. TN. I think, per the 1830 Williamson Co. TN Census that my John Webb was born between 1781 and 1790. I have the Martha Patsey Landrum and her 3 brothers and two sisters born in Union Co. SC. and going all the way back to Scotland. However, I cannot make a connection on the parents or the place of John Webb's birth. His daughter Rebecca Webb Woods stated in the 1880 census for Ballard Co. KY. that her mother was from SC and that her father was from KY. We found out in Feb that Rebecca was right about her mother and I will look in Ky. for her father's birth. Sorry I could not connect with your Webb family.
