Larry, Have any of the descendants of Pleasant done the DNA analysis? He died between 1830 and 1840 in Ohio, USA. Around 1800 Pleasant and family came in to the Ohio valley from Rutherford County, North Carolina. In 1803 (reported to be 45 years old) he was at the Licks in Scioto County, Ohio. Pleasant was > in GreenupCounty, Kentucky in 1820 and in Lawrence County, Ohio in 1830. He did not appear in the 1840 census, so it is believed he died between 1830-1840. Pleasant (Plesent) WEBB and Unknown had the following children: James WEBB (1786), Elias WEBB (1788), Thomas Hanley WEBB (1795), Aden WEBB (1797), Temperance WEBB (1799), William WEBB (1801), Margaret WEBB (1806), Sarah (Sally) WEBB (1809), and Baker WEBB (1811). > > Larry D. Mailto Please give dates on Richard Webb Thanks Maurice Webb DMA # 26205
Richard Webb was born somewhere in Kentucky (maybe Barrren Co.) in 1827. He died in Perry Township, Marion Co. (Indianapolis) between 1860 and 1870. I think that his father was also named Richard Webb. I have found a Richard Webb on the 1810 and 1820 census index for Barren Co. KY. I am going the the FHC and try to find him on Ancestry.Com. If I am right, his father would have been born 1800 - 1809. They seem to have lived in Fairfield, Columbiana Co, Ohio from 1820 to 1840 on their way to Indiana. Anyone have information on Webbs in Kentucky in the 1800's; especially Richard Webb. mailto: [email protected]
I'm looking for information on my GG grandmother Mary Adline WEBB EIDSON b: October 26,1822. County lines changed over the years, and she would have been born in either Henry,or Monroe County GA. She died Calhoun County,MS. She is buried in Spring Hill Cemetery in Calhoun County, MS..I'm told Henry & Monroe Counties are now Butts County.GA.. Mary Adline WEBB was married to William Shelton EIDSON,who was also born in the same area in 1823. I'd really appreciate any help in finding Mary's family. Thanks Nancy
Carol: I suspect one of them is a George Washington Webb b 1823 in Rutherford Co. TN. My DNA match had a Geo. W Webb b in MO or TN., then on to TX. The other one I don't know. However, I would think after all those children he would have named one John Webb. I am going to pursue A Thomas L. Webb thinking the middle initial would be Landrum. One of Martha's brothers was Thomas Landrum and he also signed as Security and preformed the wedding ceremony. Still looking and you can join the search anytime you would like. Thanks. I am seeking information on Richard Webb, b. 1827 in KY, migrated to OH and then to Perry Township (Indianapolis), Marion Co, IN. He appears in the 1860 and 1870 censuses in Perry Township married to Ellen E. Whitford who was born in Onondaga Co, NY in 1829. I find an advanced party of Webbs in Perry Township in the 1850 census. They are also from KY. Richard arrives 10 years later. I am seeking the locality in KY that they came from. David Kimball Alexandria, LA [email protected]
My copy arrived in yesterday's mail, and here is what I have found in the INDEX. No mention of North Carolina in the Index. Now, the text may be another matter. I have not read it yet. No John Webb without a middle initial. No John B. Webb No Franklin Webb No Ruffin Webb. Stephen Webb only mentioned as an adjoining landowner to Lewis Webb. I have long presumed this Stephen to be the same Stephen of whom Rae Jean speaks, as he shows up in GA just after the wagon train from Edgecombe Co,NC arrived & has a wife named Ann and a birthdate consistent with the 1790 Nash Co Stephen Webb. The GA Stephen died in 1818 or 1819. OK that is all the requests I find I recorded. Anne
Carol: Sorry, but I still have two males of John and Martha Webb's that I have not named yet. Could be a William but, I think William would be more of a brother to my John Webb? The trait also shows up in my WEBB ancestors. Family originates for me from Chester and York Co., PA. Many Webb's and descendants around Fawn Grove, York, PA and my family relocated to Salem, Columbiana, OH. Just talked to my mother (now 97 yrs young) about it and she says her brother had very pronounced webb toes. Mom's maiden name Helen Esther Webb. Charles Coulter Port Charlotte, FL

I am searching for information about Mrs. Margaret Webb, b. abt 1919, daughter of my grandaunt. In 1966 Margaret was living at 9251 Yosemite Ave, Detroit, MI. Yesterday, I was informed that she married Jack Webb. Does Margaret and Jack Webb, Detroit, MI ring a bell out there? Regards Hallvard A. Vie

No. I don't know where in KY John Webb was born. One of their daughters, Rebecca Webb Woods stated in the 1880 Ballard Co. KY. Federal Census that her father was born in KY and her mother was born in SC. She was right about her mother so I think she was right about her father's birth place also. I will start looking around the Mammoth Cave area near Boling Green KY. Carol: John and Martha Landrum Webb married on Jan 15, 1811 in Williamson Co. TN. They had at least 12 children and I can account for all but 2 boys. I have a DNA match that might identify one of the two unknown boys. One of their boys was Francis Jackson Webb and one of his sons Lewis Ezell Webb (named after my gg gf) died in IN. in a coal mine accident. My John Webb was active in the Bedford Co. TN. Enon Baptist Church and was mysteriously removed from the list of (4) Baptist Association representatives for the church in Aug 1834. An old Webb Family Bible states that John Webb died inv in 1835 IN or IL while on a hunting trip. I believe that John Webb went to IN or IL to visit family and died while hunting there? A genealogist that saw the old Webb Family Bible said it was IL where John Webb died? Martha left the Enon Baptist and went with 14 other members to join the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in 1840. Martha is buried in the Mt Pleasant Church Cemetery and her grave stone states that she was the WIFE OF JOHN WEBB like she knew she would never be buried by his side. One of John and Martha's girls married a Little and moved to Marshall and then to Lincoln Co. TN. Two of their children went to Henry Co. TN and then to Hickman and Carlisle Cos. In KY. At least three others moved to Christian Co. KY. I have not located the other half yet. My gg gf Lewis Ezell Webb, was John and Martha's son born on Feb 1. 1830 and he and his sister Rebecca Webb Woods migrated to western KY to a town called Arlington KY. I have 4 generations of my Webb's buried there. I hope that this might help in making a connection the Webb's in IN. My DNA kit is 21093. Winnie, I am descended from John Webb (will 1815, Giles County, VA, ) who is thought to be the brother of the Augustine Webb (b. 1755, Hanover Co., VA, enlisted from Albemarle Co., VA) and the son of Julius Webb (church records Hanover Co., VA 1750's, property records Albemarle Co., VA, 1760's, court record Botetourt Co.,1779). My John Webb owned land along the Sinking Creek in the 1780's in then Botetourt Co., VA as did Augustine and a younger Julius, who owned land adjoining John's land and witnessed my John's will. Millian Webb (thought to be the sister of John and Augustine) married Oliver Walker in Botetourt Co on June 8, 1779, with the bond posted by Julius Webb. I have recently submitted a DNA sample, but I do not have the results yet.
