Thanks so much Anne!! Yes, it sure does help. I am pretty sure that this James W Webb is the father of my grandfather Arthur that I could never pinpoint. I find him in Carroll Co in 1910 and Judge L so this would be the JL and JW Webb's that signed Arthur arrest bonds in Carroll Co. GA I found the family listed as I posted in 1900 in Al and am on a search for them all. Also, the Lovella Webb listed under James W Webb and wife Frannie, could be the one of my clues. The only living aunt that was a half sister to my mother had written me a letter years ago before I was really searching and told me that Arthur had a sister named 'miss Ellie" and she lived in Hogasville Troup Co. I am finding connections to this also. I think I can say that I am on the right track this time. I surely do appreciate your kindness, let me know if I can ever do anything for you. I am a member of the GA and AL genealogy societies and it does open some doors to research! thanks again! Mary

Hi, Good to hear from you. Enjoyed the email. The noise of the burp was not too bad, but the smell was terrible !!! Merrell
I am seeking any additional information that you can provide about the parents/siblings of Pleasant Webb. Thanks a million. ============================================================= Pleasant (Plesent) WEBB was born about ca 1760-1765. His son, Elias, said that his father, Pleasant was born in Ireland (not substantiated). He died between 1830 and 1840 in Ohio, USA. Around 1800 Pleasant and family came in to the Ohio valley from Rutherford County, North Carolina . In 1803 (reported to be 45 years old) he was at the Licks in Scioto County, Ohio. Pleasant was in GreenupCounty, Kentucky in 1820 and in Lawrence County, Ohio in 1830. He did not appear in the 1840 census, so it is believed he died between 1830-1840. Pleasant (Plesent) WEBB and Unknown had the following children: James WEBB (1786), Elias WEBB (1788), Thomas Hanley WEBB (1795), Aden WEBB (1797), Temperance WEBB (1799), William WEBB (1801), Margaret WEBB (1806), Sarah (Sally) WEBB (1809), and Baker WEBB (1811). To Whom It May Concern: RE: Ancestry of Augustine Webb - I'M hurt. You left me out!!!! Having worked on the genelogy of my Great, Great, Great Grandfather Augustine Webb for many years, I was pleasantly surprised to find almost his complete history on the internet. Your information is correct up until the marriage of Frances Ann "Franky" Rainbarger to Jacob Ganote. You list that they had only one daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Ganote, who married Isaac Hibbs. I beg to differ. They had two daughters. Mary Jane "Jennie" Ganote was their daughter also. She was born in 1860. She was my Great-Grandmother. My Grandmother remembed her Aunt "Becky" well, but she also remembed her Mom, Mary Jane (whom she was named after), even though Jennie died when my grandmother was about 13. In 1880, Mary Jane Ganote was a servant in the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Thornton (nee Garrett) whose husband, Reuben Thornton, was deceased and who had two sons, William G. and Judson Carne Thornton . They lived in Clermont, , Bullitt County , Kentucky. Jennie married Judson on May 20, 1883. They were married in Bullitt County by Rev. A Mobley, according to the marriange records of Bullitt County. Jennie Ganote and Judson Carne Thornton had 5 children. William, Ballard, Mary Ganote, Elizabeth and Melvina Kate. Lizzie died at an early age. Jennie died Dec. 25, 1895 and is buried in Vine Hill Cemetary in Clermont, Kentucky. In The Kentucky Obituary Register, her death is listed as: Thornton, Mary Jane, Age 40, Died Dec. 25, 1895. Parents: Jacob and Frances Ganote - died in Bullitt County, Kentucky. Mary Ganote Thornton was my Grandmother. She was always proud she was named after her mother. She married William Gwinn Evans and they had 7 children. One of which was my mother, Eudora Thornton Evans. She married my father, Morace Burns and had only one child - me! My name was Willa Louise Burns. My name is now Willa Fougnie. I would be interested in hearing from someone off this same family tree as Augustine. We have become old friends during my research, I even visited where he fought in the battleof the Cowpens and where he had his land grant near Drennon's Lick and The Kentucky River. Your coverage is extensive and well appreciated for all the hard work.Don't know if this means anything to you or not, but I just wanted you to know another line of us exists - through Franky and Jacob's other daughter,Jennie. I have her picture and she was a beautiful red-haired woman who was proud of being part French. The picture is black and white, of course, but my Grandmother told me her Mom (Jennie) was red-headed. My Great-Grandfather (Judson C.Thornton) gave the ground for the cemetary in which she is buried. If someone could bring the Webb Ancestry up to date and include the info I just gave, I would appreciate it. Thank you, Willa L. Fougnie- email - [email protected]
Mell, I'm not sure about your grandfather's three brothers but I do have data on Coleman Buchanan WEBB, b. 12 Jun 1806 in Rutherford Co., North Carolina and his eldest son (of eight children)... Alfred WEBB b. 4 Jan 1829 near Newman, Coweta, Georgia and m. 21 Jan 1847 at Coweta Co., Georgia to Mary Elizabeth MOORE. Alfred d. 13 Jul 1900 at Downsville, McLennan, Texas. Their seventh child (of eight) was Erastus Jeptha (E.J. or "Jep") WEBB, b. 11 Nov 1865 at Linden (near Rusk), Cass, Texas and who married (thirdly) on 24 Mar 1897 at Waco, Mclennan, Texas to Mantie Dee HOOKS. Their first child, Kenneth Malcolm WEBB, Sr., was my maternal grandfather. I'll be happy to send you what I have, you can E-mail me at: [email protected] A. D. Hall
Based on different records the names Anna Bardahl, Jack Webb, Wade Webb and Margaret Webb are connected to the property at 9251 Yosemite in Detroit MI over the time period from 1958 till few years ago. Jack and Margaret were owners of the 9251 property until few years ago. I am searching for lost relatives and I hope the names above ring a bell to someone on the Webb List Hallvard
Mell, out of curiousity, what were your grandfather's and his brothers' names? My great-great grandfather William Douglas Webb had four brothers who "went West."
