James must have been in KY in 1799 when his son Jordan was born. Nothing has been found on Jordan's place of birth, other than the state. Joann Interesting. Any info on where or when James S. Webb was in Kentucky & where his son Jordon was born? Perhaps, Sam Webb, whose John was also born possibly in KY might be interested also. This may be of interest to Micky Fletcher. We must use every avenue we can to clear up our brick walls. John Webb, 1714 of Northampton, NC had one son named Jesse, 1756-1837, that married Mary Lucretia Taylor and they lived and died in Franklin Co., NC. Their son William Taylor Webb,1790-1859, migrated to Gibson Co., Tennessee and married Mouning Denby Ely. Just by chance, there might be a connection between William Taylor Webb and William Julius Webb. Take a look at my history. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/w/e/b/Ottice-Gilbert-Webb-KY/ Ottice Webb Stanton, KY ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mickey W. Looking for Richard Webb, b 1827 in Kentucky (according to the 1860 U.S. Census of Perry (Marion Co.) IN; d between 1870 and 1880 in Perry Township, Indianapolis, IN; md Ellen E. Whitford about 1859 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. Their children who were all born in Indiana were: William Hester Webb, b 1 May 1860, md Frances Ellen Bristow 14 Dec 1880 in Indianapolis, d 14 Mar 1938 in New Orleans, bur in Crown Hill Cemetary, Indianapolis, IN. Thomas H. Webb, b 1865. Cora Webb, 1869. Other given names furthur down the line are: Agnes Webb, Henry Fletcher Webb, Max Webb, Richard Todd Webb, Thomas H. Webb, Virgil Thomas Webb and William Henry Webb. I have found a Richard Webb in the 1820, 1830 and 1840 censuses of Columbiana Co, Ohio. Perhaps his father or uncle was also named Richard and apparently lived there for 20 years before continuing on the Indianapolis from Kentucky.. Can anyone suggest Kentucky counties to look in? I need help. David Kimball mailto: [email protected]

Hello all. My brick wall is WilliamWebb. I know that he was married to Virginia (Jenny) Stringfellow and a second time to a Julius or Julian. For those researching the "New England Webbs", particularly those with the I haplogroup, my line is: 1)John G. WEBB, b. NYC 1797 2)Francis Boggs Webb, b. NYC 10/20/1818, d. St. Louis, MO 1849; m. Dorothy Edmonston 12/10/1842 in St. Louis, MO. 3)Jean Francis Webb, b. St Louis, MO 01/27/1848; d.01/05/1930, White Plains, NY; m. Mary Elizabeth Hypes 06/02/1868 in Lebanon, IL. 4) Jean Francis Webb Jr., b. Lebanon IL 03/01/1869; d. New York NY 04/22/1943; m. Ethel Hamill Morrison 12/230/1908 in Denver CO. 5) Jean Francis Webb III, b. White Plains, NY 10/01/1910; d.New York NY 10/10/1991; m. Martha Ann Bukeley 05/27/1936 in New York,NY. 6) Morrison DeSoto Webb, living DNA sample 11072 at first seemed unlike all other Webb DNA, but subsequent samples are suggesting a New England cluster that may link together. If the DNA is in fact unique from other Webbs, a nonpaternity story may lie among the following facts I've learned about John G. Webb, my "brick wall"; May 12, 1818: John G. Webb marries Jane Ann Chadderdon, both of NYC October 20, 1818: John's son, Francis Boggs Webb, is born November 29, 1820: John G. Webb marries Lucy Camlin, both of NYC. In my research, I have assembled a fair amount of data on other Webbs in New York City from the 1770s to the 1840s if any one else is working in that area. ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] Date: Monday, August 1, 2005 6:53 am Subject: [WEBB] CALLING ALL WEBB RESEARCHERS > Hello, I have thought long and hard about this letter but feel I > must write > it. John Milton Webb was said to have been born in North Carolina about 1844-50. He married Anliza Marietta Hembree. I am not certain where the marriage took place but most likely in White County Tennessee. I descend from their son Milford E.Webb born in Ky about 1880 and died in 1936 in Johnston City, Illinois. The family of John and Anliza were in West Pine Knot Ky in the 1900 census. I know that Milford had the following siblings, John (Jonathan possibly) Alexander, Cynthia, Amanda, Charlie and Dora who married an unknown Perkins in 1899. Milford married Martha Alice Roach daughter of William Henry Roach and Rebecca Isaacs of Jackson County Ky....in 1900 they were in Whitley county and close neighbors of the John M. Webb family. When the sibling John became disabled...he moved to Johnston City with at least two of his children, Dewey, and Howard. They lived with Milford and family for a time. If any of this sounds familiar to anyone, your help would be greatly appreciated. I have alot of information on the family of Milford that I would be more than happy to share. Debbie Wilson Fehr
The verbal tradition within the Webb side of my family has it that 5 Webb brothers came to America from Wales in a great ship during colonial times. They initially lived in Virginia before migrating West. It is also believed that these brothers were somehow related to Samuel Blatchley Webb from CT, who has a storied history during the Revolutionary War; Samuel is descended from Richard Webb of Gloucestershire, England. Two of the 5 brothers went to Kentucky where they opened a weaving shop. My line ultimately ended up in Tennessee where my brick wall starts. The brick wall is William Julius Webb who also went by Julius Webb, who we know lived in Bedford Co. (in the southern part of Middle Tennessee), Gibson Co. (central Western Tennessee), and possibly later in either Lake or Obion Co. He married a Cherokee indian named Esther. When Esther died, she was buried near Reelfoot Lake. They had 2 boys Isaiah Thomas and Jeremiah. Isaiah Thomas married Mary Moore on 21 June, 1837 in Gibson Co. TN, and Jeremiah married Peggy Stafford 31 October, 1838 in Gibson Co. TN. My GG Grandfather, Isaiah Thomas Webb was born in Bedford Co. TN on 13 Jan., 1815. At the age of 4, his parents moved to Gibson Co. TN. After Isaiah and Mary were married, they lived in Bedford Co for several years before migrating to Missouri in 1852. They moved multiple times upon their arrival to Missouri and even once lived just West of Fort Scott, KS at the outbreak of the Civil War before eventually settling in Wright Co. I think it would be very helpful for all researchers to make mention to what is documented on their Webb lines when posting their lineages plus if DNA has been submitted. I know it would be a big help for me!!! Also,I recently posted using 'My Webb line' as the subject.Thought I would keep it plain and simple, but will repost under a different heading if it would be more helpful. Mary, any suggestions? My earliest Webb's are in VA.and then in KY,but could have lived in other sates too so I don't just want to focus on these 2 areas. Due to not having much to go on with concerns to my John Webb of VA.I find myself reading every message posted no matter what the subject line says!!! Thanks to all of you for responding to Mary Wyatt's request. Sure has woke this site up!!!! Diane aka Diana Webb Evans
