Judith - We have talked before and I am convinced we are of the same Weaver line since "Barney Weaver", was at my Grandfather's funeral in 1950. His name is on the same flower card as some of my other Weavers that I know are kin. I show three other children born to Barney and Grace Weaver from the WPA index as follows: male, born 5/31/1896 female, born 7/28/1897 male, born 3/10/1899 I have these marked as Marion County, IN, births but it is possible that they are Hancock Co, IN. Oaklandon, McCordsville and Fortville are all near the Marion/Hancock county line. These little towns are in the far NW corner of Hancock County. Marion Co is to the west and Madison Co is to the north. These places are all within a few miles of each other including the county lines. One of my Weaver's, William E. Weaver, married Lucinda Fowler 12/24/1874 in Hancock Co, IN. One of their sons, Mark O. Weaver, married Ethel Honeycutt on 12/31/1907 also in Hancock County, IN. Another son, John B. Weaver married Lizzie Plump in Jackson Co., IN on 12/16/1900. This information is also from the WPA index. Several of Mark's children are still alive, but very old. I have talked to a few of them. William Weaver's father is listed as George P. Weaver, b. 1810, KY. George is listed in the 1850 Nicholas Co KY censes. Wife is Joanna Hardwick. They are next listed in Jackson Co. IN in 1860. BLM records show 160 acres to George P. Weaver deeded in 1856, Jackson Co, IN. Reuben Weaver, b. 1813, KY, is listed in the 1850 Nicholas Co, KY censes and then in the 1860 census for Shelby Co.IN. Reuben married Cinthia Hardwick, the sister of Joanna. I believe they are brothers, but have no proof. I also have no proof that George was born in KY as the census taker may have asked where are you from instead of where were you born. I think it is a real strong possibility that your John and my George and Reuben are close kin and possibly brothers. MaryAnn
