WEAVER was the son of William Weaver and Alpha Houghton. His age was not listed. He married Lucratia Cramer of Maple Creek, Nebraska, age 17, on August 12, 1870. The 1880 census lists four children, Lealand, m, 9; Alpha F., f, 5; Ruie E., f, 3; and Lottie, f, 1. In 1894 they apparently lived in South Dakota, as a newspaper article on her fathers death said she would be returning to Hill City SD. I found a reference to a John L. Weaver in SD, Vol 4 Issue 3 Page 111 of the South Dakota Quarterly and it shows a John L Weaver on the 1890 Civil War Veteran's Census from Custer County, SD. Data showed that he served from New York and at the time of the census, he has a residence in Hermosa, S D. This is possibly the same John L Weaver. I would like any information anyone out there might have on this family. The 1900 Census of Pennington County, SD Rockford Precinct lists Lucratia as Head of the house, and Lottie is 21, Myrtis (it appears to be) 19 and a son born in 1895, his name is difficult to read, it could be Bernie. John Weaver, a son is boarding with his uncle Orestes Charles Cramer, 17 years old, and they lived in Pennington County SD, Mountain City Precinct. I would appreciate any information you have on this family. Lucretia (Lucratia) Cramer WEAVER was my great aunt. Thank you much! Karon Mazie Okanogan, Washington karonm@televar.com
