    1. [WEAVER-L] John Weaver PA>IN
    2. Judith - We have talked before and I am convinced we are of the same Weaver line since "Barney Weaver", was at my Grandfather's funeral in 1950. His name is on the same flower card as some of my other Weavers that I know are kin. I show three other children born to Barney and Grace Weaver from the WPA index as follows: male, born 5/31/1896 female, born 7/28/1897 male, born 3/10/1899 I have these marked as Marion County, IN, births but it is possible that they are Hancock Co, IN. Oaklandon, McCordsville and Fortville are all near the Marion/Hancock county line. These little towns are in the far NW corner of Hancock County. Marion Co is to the west and Madison Co is to the north. These places are all within a few miles of each other including the county lines. One of my Weaver's, William E. Weaver, married Lucinda Fowler 12/24/1874 in Hancock Co, IN. One of their sons, Mark O. Weaver, married Ethel Honeycutt on 12/31/1907 also in Hancock County, IN. Another son, John B. Weaver married Lizzie Plump in Jackson Co., IN on 12/16/1900. This information is also from the WPA index. Several of Mark's children are still alive, but very old. I have talked to a few of them. William Weaver's father is listed as George P. Weaver, b. 1810, KY. George is listed in the 1850 Nicholas Co KY censes. Wife is Joanna Hardwick. They are next listed in Jackson Co. IN in 1860. BLM records show 160 acres to George P. Weaver deeded in 1856, Jackson Co, IN. Reuben Weaver, b. 1813, KY, is listed in the 1850 Nicholas Co, KY censes and then in the 1860 census for Shelby Co.IN. Reuben married Cinthia Hardwick, the sister of Joanna. I believe they are brothers, but have no proof. I also have no proof that George was born in KY as the census taker may have asked where are you from instead of where were you born. I think it is a real strong possibility that your John and my George and Reuben are close kin and possibly brothers. MaryAnn

    1. [WEAVER-L] Fredrick WEAVER of PA
    2. Judy Lynn Weaver
    3. I haven't spent a lot of time on my WEAVERs once I visited the Northampton Co. (PA) Historical Society a few years ago, and had every single research assistant there stumped as to where my WEAVERs fit in ;-) So, since Randy mentioned this county with his Tobias WEAVER, I thought I'd post about mine. My G-G-Grandpa was Fredrick "Fred" WEAVER Jr. (1830-1898). According to a church death notice, he was the S/O Friedrich/Fredrick Sr. & Sophia (maiden name unknown) WEAVER of Northampton Co. Fred supposedly followed his blacksmith father to Pottsville in the late 1840s, where he married a Caroline CONRAD circa 1850; they had three surviving daughters. The girls' names were handed down for a few generations, so they may be family names: Christine Sophia, Henrietta Marie, and Caroline L. Fred's obituary also listed a sister (first name unknown) who married a Mr. SMITH (:-p). Fred then moved to Elizabethville in Dauphin Co., started a distillery called Weaver & Son, and married Catherine HELFRICH. They had only one son, Harry, to carry on the name -- though *he* did his duty and fathered over a dozen kids! The family rumor is that Fred &/or his father came directly from Germany, and I tend to believe it (although I haven't had an opportunity to research as deeply as I'd like). Any clues gratefully accepted! Judy Lynn WEAVER jweaver@kellyadv.com ---My British Isles heritage includes: Bovill?, Brewis, Burnett, Chesney, Cheeseman/Ch(r)isman, Clifton, Crawford, Crossland, Edwards, Emerson?, Glover?, Higgins, Horn, Johns, Johns(t)on?, Main, McClure, Merton, Myers, Nash, Ritchie?, Stephenson?, Stanier?, Storey?, Whitmore, Wilbrau?, Wildridge, Wilson. ---My "Pennsylvania Dutch" heritage includes: Arnold, Bayer/Beyer, Click/Klick, Daub, Dreibelbis, Feherenback, Heitzman, Helfrich, Hepler, Hoch, Hoffman, Jury, Kehler, Marmelot/Mermilo, Messerschmidt?, Peffley, Phillips, Sassamanshausen, Scharadin, Scheible, Schmidt, Schram/Shrum, Sherrick, Wanner, Weaver, Welker

    1. weaver_chuckninge: [WEAVER-L] Descendants of Tobias WEAVER
    2. Charles t Weaver
    3. To those who have so graciously sent me bits of info and requested any info I may have, here is all I have on the WEAVER clan (mine at least). I would appreciate any bits you could feed me based on the below info. I am Charles T. (Chuck) WEAVER, 6. i. at the end of this initial list. The only WEAVER family I have any record of are those listed below who settled in Lower Saucon Twp., Northampton Cty., PA. I am trying to trace the family back beyond Tobias WEAVER. The marriage of Tobias S. WEAVER (son of Tobias) to Louisa J. HESS, was the point at which the WEAVER family and the HESS family merged, but I have no information to go back beyond Tobias S.'s father, Tobias WEAVER. That is what I am looking for. If any of you have any information it would be highly appreciated. ---------------------------------- I do have a full genealogy of the HESS family, coming down as far as my children, and going back to Nicholas HESS, born in Zweibrucken, Germany, July 15, 1724, who came to the USA about the year 1741. The exact date and the ship of his travel are uncertain. Very little of his forbears is known. At about the age of twenty-one years, being then a resident of Springfield Twp., Bucks Cty, PA, Nicholas was married to Catherine Funk, a native of Montgomery Cty., PA. They had six children - Conrad, Philip, Elizabeth, John, George, and Catherine Hess. Details of all of these are available if you will contact me. ------------------------------------------------------------ Below is the basic information I do have about the WEAVER family of which I am a member. Descendants of Tobias Weaver Generation No. 1 1. TOBIAS WEAVER was born April 03, 1786 in Lower Saucon, Twp, Northampton Cty., PA, and died April 20, 1868 in Lower Saucon, Twp, Northampton Cty, PA. He married ANNA STUMP June 13, 1812. (It is a very strong probability that George Adam Weaver of Lower Saucon, Twp, Northampton Cty., PA is the father of Tobias.) Child of TOBIAS WEAVER and ANNA STUMP is: 2. i. TOBIAS S. WEAVER, b. March 20, 1831, Lo. Saucon Twp., Northampton Cty., PA; d. July 20, 1900, Lo. Saucon Twp., Northampton Cty., PA. HESS March 20, 1851, daughter of JOSEPH HESS and SARAH STUMP. Children of TOBIAS WEAVER and LOUISA HESS are: i. EMMA WEAVER, b. April 17, 1858. 3. ii. CYRUS WEAVER, b. January 05, 1860, Lo. Saucon Twp., Northampton Cty., PA; d. May 12, 1943, Lo. Saucon Twp., Northampton Cty., PA. 4. iii. CHARLES BENJAMIN WEAVER, b. April 18, 1863, Lo. Saucon Twp., Northampton Cty., PA; d.
