    3. Dear Betty: Jerry and my Henry Weavers are two different families and from what you say, it sound as if yours might well be the Henry Weaver/Catherine Fast line. Mine is the descendants of Christopher Weaver of Phjiladelphia County, PA and later Berkeley County, Virginia (now WVA). Years ago I believed that they were one and the same, but since have disproven it and thus hve little memory of where and what I found. I did keep a GEDCOM of that data before removing it from my database. Would a copy as an Email attachment be of any use to you? 2. Laurence A. Weaver, Jr.
    3. Over the years, I keep stumbling over some faulty genealogical research concerning one Henry Weaver. It has been published in booklet form and sold and I now understand that it can be purchased on floppy disks. In a "nutshell" it shows that Henry Weaver, son of Christopher Weaver (senior) of Sleepy Creek, Berkeley County VA (now WVA) married Catherine Fast. Well, a Henry Weaver did marry Catherine Fast, but it was not Christopher's son. I'd be glad to correspond with any Weaver researcher concerning this. Larry

    1. Re: [WEAVER-L] Henry Weaver - faulty data
    2. Larry, I am also a descendent of Henry Weaver. I myself haven't proven any information beyond my g-g-grandfather William Henry Harrison Weaver. The information sent to me by other cousins also list Henry Weaver (husband of Catherine Fast) as the son of Christopher Weaver but state this information is in question. I live in Texas and have not been able to do any research in the area to try find out for my self. Have you found any information as to who Henry's father is? Seems like to me I read somewhere once they thought his dad was Christopher Weaver but not the same one. Please let me know if you have any additional information. I'm also interested to know which son of Henry Weaver you descended from. I descended for Henry Weaver, Jr. and Abigail Griggs, then Daniel Weaver and Mary Mitchell and then William H.H. Weaver and Almina McCauley. Jerry Brown

    3. I wish that I could help you, but I do not recognize any of the people whom you name. I hope you hit it lucky and get a positive response from someone. The WEAVER family is hard to research. I have been researching my WEAVERs for years and have found quite a lot, but most of the time it has been no clues or dead ends, there have been times of sweet joy when a tiny discovery is made, mostly because almost never is there just one bit of information, it generally leads to more and those rare times are precious! Good luck in your work. 3. Hi, I am new to this list, but am trying to find out any information on my husband's family. This is all the information I have: Father's name: Tommy Martin Weaver who was born in the late 1890's in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was an only child. His parents moved to Gage, Ellis County, Oklahoma which is where he met and married Edith Mae Porter. They had 4 children - Harold Lee Weaver, Eugene Alden Weaver, Paul Lawrence Weaver and Pauline Ruth Everson (Paul & Pauline were twins). I am married to Paul. Paul's parents, Tommy and Edith, moved to Donna, Texas in 1946. They resided there until their deaths. Tommy passed away in May 1976 and Edith passed away in November 1989. Both are buried at Weslaco, Texas. Paul's twin sister, Pauline, passed away in October 1990. His oldest brother, Harold passed away in October 1962. They are also buried at Weslaco, Texas. Paul's grandparents are buried in Gage, Oklahoma. Other that that, we know nothing further about the Weaver family. Thank you for your assistance. _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com

    1. [WEAVER-L] VIRUS WARNING
    2. Although these lists are not a platform for ads, I thought this might come under the heading of 'WARNING'! Your e-mail address book could be invaded and 50 of your closest friends, relatives, or fellow genealogists could be getting emails for Pornographic web sites. Maybe you are getting one and don't know how it got started! There is a virus going around called Mailissa or Melissa. The virus typically arrives in an e-mail headed: Important Message from (users name). The test of the message reads "Here is a document you asked for...don't show to anyone else ;-)" The virus is transmitted through Microsoft Word 97 attachments to e-mail messages. Once a user activated the virus by opening the attachment, the virus culls up to 50 names from the user's electronic address book and sends itself automatically to those other users. Do not open or delete it. You can avoid spreading the virus by simply refusing to open the e-mail attachment. (For you techies out there....It infects MS Word 97 document by adding a new VBA5 (macro) module names Melissa. Although there is nothing unique in the infection routine of this macro virus, it has a payload that utilizes MS Outlook to send an attachment of the infected MS Word 97 document being opened. Symantec Anti-virus has a sample of this virus in house and expects to have a new definition set available to detect and repair this virus within 24 hours.) HERE IS WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO ALL OF US: It is not uncommon to any/all of us to share our family trees or documentation. A lot of it saved on Word. It would not be uncommon for us to get unsolicited attachments of information when we realize how many people we communicate with on a daily basis and the kinds formats and types of information we exchange. Sometimes we are trying to pinpoint exact names, middle initials, or dates, and we send 'what we have' rather than retype it. Many of us are just beginners and don't have sophisticated software applications....such as family tree maker...so it comes in Word format. Kathy

    3. To our List- Tonite on our local TV news, in Oklahoma, they ran a special about a small town just east of us. One of the local High School Teacher, sponsored or chaperoned a project to clean up the area, the stones and fix stones if possible, in the local cemetery. Since most of the students in the project had ancestors in the cemetery, they also completed as much as possible on their family tree. A great deal was gleaned by many of them. One of the girls ancestors had walked the trail of tears. As I watched the program with great interest I thought how great it would be if we could get more school projects, properly chaperoned, to do this. I believe I will write the teacher and suggest she also have them do an inventory of the cemetery and submit to the genealogical society in that county. Perhaps some of you know educators you could pass this idea onto. They had at least two sons, Charles W. (my grandfather) and William A. The boys later moved to TX. William A. was listed in the 1920 Dallas, TX census together with his wife, Ina Mae. Would greatly appreciate any information on any of these 4 individuals. Thanks. Bill Weaver

    2. Looking for information on the parents and possible siblings of Enoch Weaver b. abt. 1850. He may have been born in PA. and lived mostly in IL. then moved to MO. Was married to Nancy C., and children Lula, Charles, Betty, Willis, Rindy, James/Joseph twins, and Arvil Columbus Weaver. This family seemed to move around a lot. Seems like no two of the children were born in the same city. It's also rumored that Nancy C. Weaver was found hanged in her home in 1906 in southern IL, possibly Chester or Cairo.

    1. [WEAVER-L] Conrad Weber/Weaver from Bavaria
    2. Looking for village in Bavaria: My gg grandfather, Conrad Weber and his spouse Sabina Albert emigrated from someplace in Bavaria to Cranberry township, Butler Co., PA about 1836-38. Travelling with them were three children, Martin b. 1827, John b. 1829 and Margaret ( Kym) b. 1835. Three more children were born in America, Conrad Jr. 1838, Franciska ( Aul) 1841 and Leonard 1846. The family was using the name WEAVER on census as early as 1840 and consistently after that; however, most but not all Catholic church records give their name as WEBER. Conrad Senior died in 1848. Sabina and her family moved to Wexford, Allegheny Co., PA. By 1860, Martin was in Spencer Co., IN, John was in Canton OH, the rest stayed in Pittsburgh. Sabina died in 1880. We feel she remarried sometime in the 1850s; however, she was living in Pittsburgh in 1878 using the name Weaver.. I have extensive information on this family except we want to know the name of the village they came from in Bavaria. Please contact me EMail: MBPKelly@aol.com Amelia Kelly

    3. This was posted to the Randolph Co and Monroe CO forums, but I mention it here as well because of the Weber and Weaver names. Judy- I don't have the information you are searching, but I am searching for Weber/Weaver families in Randolph Co also. I am looking for information on a Johann Michael Weber born 12 June 1806 in Bavaria, Germany. He is the sone of Johann George Weber and Maria Catharine Rudolph. His marriage record shows him as John Weaver (Weber) marrying Catharine (Rosine Baumann) Scholl (born 12 February 1808 somewhere in Wurttemberg, Germany) on 27 July 1837 in Monroe County, IL. Johann Michael Weber died Oct. 27, 1856 in Red Bud, Randolph, IL. Their children include Jacob Weber (14 Mar 1840), Elizabeth Weber (b. 18 Mar 1841), William Weber (b 25 Aprl 1844), Margareta Weber (B 7 Apr 1846), William Weber (B 7 Apr 1846), Margaret Weber (B 7 Dec 1847), and another child (B 1854). All were born in Monroe or Randolph counties; it appears that some may not have lived as shown by repeated first names of younger children. Is it possible that your Nancy Weaver could be a wife or a daughter of one of these children? Who were Nancy's parents?
