Does anyone on the list---have WEAVERS in Cambria Co. PA?? If so please email me some info on them, I have to have relatives there somewhere! Thanks so much.
Searching for parents of Elizabeth Weaver, born about 1813 probably in Champaign County, Ohio who married Thomas Putnam (Putman) 17 Feb, 1834 believed also to have taken place in Champaign County. I've searched all my Weaver ancestral data from the brothers, Christopher and William and their male offsprings and while there are plenty of Elizabeths in the family (Christopher's mother was an Elizabeth!), I've been unable to find this one. All others had other husbands. Christopher and his first wife, Mary Rector were my ancestors. Thanks for any help (or even theories). Katherine: I have been stumped on my WEAVER line for months. Here is what I have: Enoch WEAVER b. abt 1850. m. Nancy GREGORY (maybe a second) c. Lula Arvil Charles Betty James Joseph Dallas Rindy Most of these children were born in various parts of IL. I have info on some of the children but I just can't find ENOCH anywhere. He died in SE MO abt. 1930 but so far no death record. I have not been able to find a census although I have only been able to search IL on line. Didn't find any in MO in 1910. Nancy died in 1906 under mysterious conditions and is buried in East Prairie, MO. Does any of this look familiar to anyone? I have posted previous but decided to try again for help. Judy

Okay, can someone help me with this: the information below was given to me by a cousin (I do not know where it originated). Read through it please I have questions at the end. The following is from a copy of the family birth record brought to America from Germany by Jacob WEAVER and his brothers John and Joseph when they imigrated to America landing at Jamestown VA in the early 1800's. From there they went to KY where John made his home. Joseph & Jacob went on to Indiana and entered land near Leessville, Lawrence Co.,IN. in 1831. Jon WEAVER b: Mar 4, 1745 d:Jun 29, 1818 Ann WEAVER b: Dec 31, 1747 Cath~ WEAVER b: Dec 31, 1765 Fra= Weaver b: Jun 4, 1768 Susan WEAVER b: Jan 23, 1770 d: May 7, 1790 Jermia WEAVER b: Apr 2, 1772 d: Jan 11, 1826 Tilghm=WEAVER b: Aug 28, 1774 d: Jan 29, 1812 Molly WEAVER b: Jan 2, 1777 Eliza WEAVER b: May 21, 1779 Ann WEAVER b: Nove 23, 1781 Sarh WEAVER b: May 27, 1784 John WEAVER b: Jan 27, 1788 Jacob WEAVER b: Oct 9, 1790 Joseph WEAVER b: Mar 22, 1793 Since there is a recorded death on the list - it is should follow that they came to America after Jan 11,1826. Okay, so far so good - the story is that they were the first WEAVER's in Lawrence Co.,IN. No problem - I have found records of land entries in Lawrence Co.,IN for Joseph in 1828,1834,1837,1838,1841; for Jacob in 1837 - fine this fits the picture........but I also found land entries in Lawrence Co.,IN for John Weaver in 1824 as well as 1835 and 1837. The later ones do bother me - KY and IN are not too far apart to hold land in each. But - does it not appear that maybe John came to America before Joseph and Jacob? I have tried to locate ships coming into Jamestown from Germany within the 1826-1828 time frame but have had no luck. Can anyone tell me where I might find this information? I check every immigration and ship site that I have come across............ Also, by any chance does anyone else connect with this WEAVER line? Most of them changed the spelling to WEVER shortly after settling in Lawrence Co. and several migrated to IL. Janet
The names below are in my genealogy file on the WEAVERs. The surname WICHERING is in the lineage. Hiram WICHERING petitioned the court of Wayne County, IN, to change his name from WICHERING to WEAVER. The Wichering family came to the United States from Germany in 1830, moving from Pennsylvania to Indiana. If you find any of these people in your own research, let's compare notes. I have much documentation to support what I have so far. Please pardon the formatting; the tabs didn't transfer well. My grandma's 1957 diary contained this entry on November 28th: Minetta Weaver died today Grandma's mom was a Weaver, and I'd like to know if Minetta was Grandma's uncle's wife, or more likely a cousin. They were all around the Stark Co. Ohio area, mostly near Canton and Hartville. Does anyone recognize the name, either as a maiden name or a married name? Thank you, Judy Uplinger Brannon
