My ancestors from Wayne Co, IN are Bowmans and Bells. John Bowman, Benjamin Bowman, Sr. m. Elizabeth Shideler, Benjamin Bowman, Jr. m. Mary M. Bell. Benjamin, Jr's brother David m. Mary's sister Ruth. Their parents were Thomas and Ruth Bell originally from Ashe Co, NC, according to the Wayne Co History. John Bowman arrived in Wayne Co via Frederick Co, MD, Bedford Co, PA and Montgomery Co, OH. Benjamin, Jr's son Aaron and grandson Samuel ended up in Huntington Co, IN. I know very little about the Bells and would love to hear from anyone who knows more. Also Elizabeth Shideler's father is in question. Most people agree he was George Adam Shideler, but whether Jr or Sr is the question. Sr would be the s/o John Shideler of Washington Co, PA and Jr would be his grandson. Any ideas out there? cbj
