> Jo, > I noticed you are searching BAKER, where are they from? I am searching > BAKER also. My grandmother was born an died in Wayne Co., my great > grandfather was born in Darke Co., Ohio and his father was born in Preble Co. > Brenda in TX Hi Brenda My maternal gr-gr-grandmother, Frances "Fanny" Baker 1835-1892, d/o Frederick BAKER, SR & Elizabeth KERSWELL of Lancaster Co, PA. Family history or lore states Fanny's parents were killed in a horse & buggy accident when she was just an infant and the children were "farmed out". Fanny was taken by a couple who moved "West" to Chillicothe, OH in Ross Co. I found her on the 1850 Fed Census as a 15 yr-old living with and working for a Casad family in Preble Co, OH. She married Jonathan Overholtz in 1851 in Camden, Preble Co, OH. They moved to Wayne or Henry Co, IN before 1859. I have not been able to discover a relationship to Bakers/Beckers in Darke Co. Fanny is related to the Bakers in Henry Co, IN. Some of them moved on to Great Bend, Barton, KS
