Thank you, Gina. Just to let all of you know how it went... It seems to have been a big hit with attendees and the library staff and board. I know the director was pleased. Everyone that filled out the evaluation form said they'd attend again. I didn't hear one negative comment other than some people thought GenFest should have been two days. I did too but the first time you do something like that, you have no idea how it's going to go over. It was a big expenditure for the library and I was reluctant to ask for more. They were so generous. Everyone wants to do this again, two other counties offered to host it next year, most suggested we enlarge the footprint to include all of ECI and then rotate hosting from county to county. [ I like that! :o) ] We had only one no-show exhibitor and that was unavoidable. The Mixer was FUN. The food vendor on Saturday ran out of BBQ and had to send for more. We had 27 or 28 door prizes donated by very generous people. The extra computers they set up were busy most of the time. We thought of a few things and people we might have added, a couple of things we might have done differently but, overall, it was very good. Thank you to all who attended, especially those who drove from MO and AZ (Virginia and Don Fyfe and another couple!). We had some from Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and all over Indiana. Wish all of you could have come! Oh, and thank you to Gina who came to help me out and be my extra legs and head. AND, last but not least, my husband who put up with me and helped in numerous ways for 18 months - Thank you, honey. Shirley I wanted to also thank Shirley Pearson for all her hard work on the Genfest! It was a wonderful event, and from the response of many people, it may become an annual event! It was really nice to meet those of you who attended! Gina Richardson INGenWeb Volunteer Coordinator Randolph County IN http://www.rootsweb.com/~inrandol/ Rootsweb Admin. Inrandol-L@rootsweb.com
