Hi I am still trying to 'nail down' the ancestry of Jane McLANE/McCLAIN who, on 13 Jun 1838 married David LYKINS (shown as LYKINGS in the records). For a long time I believed that, her father was Archibald MCCLAIN of Wayne Co. and later Delaware Co. IN. I am now not so sure. I am seeking any marriage records that might list her parents. I have a copy of their marriage certificate but it does not give any of that information. Did IN require any kind of bond or license at that time? Thanks Tom

I am interested in any connections to this name. My husband's gg grandfather, Lewis Guthrie settled in Connersville and at one time we had the name "Sarah McLain" as the name of his wife, which has not been proven. He was from Shelby County KY and married his first wife there. Interestingly, the McLain name is very common in that county. I'm interested in any speculation or ideas on any of these people and those areas in KY and IN.
