Memoirs of Wayne County - chapter 5 page 60 Among the settlers who arrived during these earlier years , in addition , to those already mentioned , can be named ; Andrew Endsley & Benjamin Jarvis in 1806 ; Benjamin Small , John Alexander , PETER FLEMING , Ephraim Overman , John Hawkins & Ralph Wright in 1807 ; John Burgess , JOHN MORROW & John Townsend in 1808 ; John Charles , Valentine Pegg , ANDREW MORROW & Michael Harvey in 1809 . At that time there were about 60 families & 350 persons in this neighborhood belonging to the Society of Friends . They held meetings as early as 1807 to 1808 in a log building belonging to & furnished with seats by Jeremiah Cox ; Jesse Bond JOHN MORROW , & WILLIAM WILLIAMS were early preachers . A few years later a meeting house was erected near where the ' Orthodox Brick ' now stands .
