    3. Jo, I also would like to see a lot more activity on this list. The more active it is the better my chance of finding more cousins. One thing that would help is when possible respond back to the list so that everyone may benefit. Jo could you maybe consolidate the information that you received about web sites for Wayne Co. and send it to the list so that the rest of us can view it? I have information on the following names that I am willing to share with any interested in them: BROWN, Beverly > John Carl > John H. > James Maddison > William (all were either born, lived or died in Wayne Co., IN. DILL, Oneida > Joseph W. > the rest of my DILL's were from across the boarder in Ohio GILLESPIE, Molly b. in Ohio and lived in Wayne Co., IN. HOOVER, Isabelle Jane > David (one of the 4 that founded Richmond) > Andrew b. MD. m. NC d. Wayne Co., IN. YOUNT, Catherine m. OH d. Wayne Co., IN. WAYMIRE, Elizabeth m. NC. d. Wayne Co., IN. Many others also that lived in Wayne Co., IN. So, if you don't have all your questions about your Wayne Co ancestors fire away with your questions and you might get an answer or two. I would love to see this a very active List. 3. Hi Folks, I am just plain lost with my bunch and searching all corners just in case. I am searching for a Jesse M. White b. 1876 Ohio who lived in IN a little while while very young. He has been missing since 1910. I am searching for a connection to Rachael VAIL MARTIN who may have gotten married in IN after 1894. Her name may have been Rachael Vail Martin WARREN. I am searching for a lost Aunt that left Ohio around 1935. Her name at that time was Bertha Mae WHITE MARTIN REED b.1898/1899 with her daughter Sarah Elizabeth MARTIN b. 1921. This cousin wouldn't know that I was born and her mother Bertha wouldn't have either. I was born 1937. This MARTIN line to my research has no connection to the above Martin line. I have family information and willing to share. Thanks, Tootsie Shoemaker T.

    3. Elijah, Joel P., Eli, Jr & Martha Ruth ANDERSON (children of Eli Anderson, Sr & Mary) were granted a certificate to Whitewater MM (from Center MM, OH) in 1836. Eli Anderson, Sr, had a brother James (wife: Celia Wright.) Some of James & Celia (Wright) Anderson's children: Lydia Anderson, b: 1794, d: 1874 Wayne Co or Fayette Co, IN. She md. Isaac WHITELEY in 1820 (Center MH, OH) and migrated to Milford MM in 1828. Wright Anderson, b: 1798 to Milford, 1830 (to Fayette Co by 1841.) One of his daughters, Mary Elizabeth md. Jesse HEACOCK, 1841, Milford MH. Peter, b: 1800 to Milford, 1828. I have the wives of Wright & Peter Anderson and Isaac & Lydia Whiteley, plus their children, but would like to compare notes on their descendants. I need spouses and children of Eli & Mary Anderson's children and will share what I have on Eli's parents, etc. Also, I really need help on Leah (Bartlett) Charles Anderson. She md. Wm. Anderson in 1800, Guilford Co, NC. She and her first husband (Wm. CHARLES) were known Nicolites and their daughter, Ann (b: 1784) md. Wm. COOK, brother to Zimri COOK who md. Lydia Pegg (the Peggs had also been Nicolites.) in 1813, Whitewater. Leah was granted a certificate (1818) to Whitewater MM. Does anyone have any information on Wm. & Leah Anderson? Thanks. 3. While searching for more information on the Martin/Stuart/Beeson families I came across mention of the Edward Barton (1763, MD - 1838, Wayne Co) and his wife Ann HARRIS (1769-bef. 1824) family (of which I am familiar with.) I thought I'd pass some information along for those who may be interested: Edward Barton and Ann Harris were married on Dec. 2, 1786 in Caroline Co, MD. They were "Nicolites." Nicolites were a religious sect much like the Quakers, only stricter and was founded abt. 1760 by Joseph Nicols in the Kent Co, DE and (now) Caroline Co, MD area. Joseph Nicols died Dec., 1770. By about 1798, the Nicolites were dissolving and sold their 3 Meeting Houses to the Quakers (many became Quakers.) There were also a number of Nicolite families who started migrating to the Jamestown (Guilford Co), NC area after Nicols' death (one Nicolite was Valentine PEGG who died in Wayne Co in 1828.) Ann (Harris) Barton was born March 4, 1769 (birth recorded in the Nicolite records) and was the daughter of Wm. Harris and his wife Ann COLLINS/COLLINGS (b: abt. 1736, MD) The Harris's were staunch Nicolites. Wm. Harris died in 1784, Caroline Co, MD and Ann married 2nd. (no date found) to Frederick CAUSEY (d: 1787.) She married 3rd (8/31/1791, MD, also Nicolite records) William ANDERSON. Many of the early Indiana Quaker ANDERSONs were descendants of William Anderson's brother (James.) Hope this helps someone. Marsha IL

    1. STUART/MARTIN/STANLEY/BEESON
    2. Marsha McWilliams
    3. Jehu STUART (1740-1827, NC), wife Sarah STANLEY, Quakers, are said to have had a daughter, Elizabeth, who married James MARTIN in 1784, Guilford Co, NC. Elizabeth was 'dismous' for marrying James. Robert Stuart (son of Jehu and bro. to Elizabeth) married Martha BEESON, 1793, NC. Martha was a sister to William Beeson who married Mary Martin (brother of James.) Wm. & Mary Beeson are said to have gone to Wayne Co in 1809. I cannot find them in Wayne Co on the 1810 census but there is a James MARTIN listed. Also, several members of the STUART family apparently went to Wayne Co. Is there anyone who is researching these families? I'm particularly interested in James & Elizabeth Martin. I have further info on these families that I'd be happy to share. Thanks. Marsha IL
