Ancestry.Com appears to be missing an entire district -- pages 218 - 250 -- in the 1850 census for Wayne Twp., Wayne County, IN. Can someone please send me the family listings for households headed by men named William WORTH. One is said to be on page 223 and the other on page 250, both Wayne/Wayne/IN.
HI Everyone. I was going through some old boxes of my grandmother's (in the hopes of finding some pictures of my family) and came across two pictures.....One of a man and another of a young child (perhaps 3-8 years of age, I believe female) They were professionally framed but I was able to pull out the glass part enough without damaging them and on the child's it says "Han JR Thomas Richmond Indiana 1861" written in pencil. The man appears to be of the same family just because I see some similarities. If anyone has any information regarding that name please let me know. I was thinking maybe it was short for Hannah but I really don't know. Thanks, Heather

I am looking for HOLLOPETER burials in Earlham Cemetery. From obituary research, I know of about half a dozen so far, but wonder if their spouses are interred there, too. Who holds Earlham records? Is there a look-up person? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. About two years ago I attempted to contact the sexton of the Elkhorn Cemetery in the southern part of Wayne County to ask for a check of a possible burial there. I never received a reply to my letter of inquiry. Does any one have a suggestion in how I might proceed? The ancestor I am seeking, William Moore d. 1837, is not listed in Beverly Younts works but the probate records show a payment for burial at the church cemetery at Elkhorn and payment for a headstone. William's parents, Joel and Mary Moore and several siblings are buried at the Elkhorn Cemetery. Any ideas? Paul Moore pdmoore52@aol.com
Rochelle, You may want to try the Morrison-Reeves Library online newspaper database. There are 759 Wright's listed. I know that the database goes back to the 1870's, so you may be able to find Ida May. I found a Mrs. Frank J. Wright who died 19 Sep 1918. While that's probably not her, you may be able to order other articles which may give you some clues. I am searching for my husband's grandmother, Ida Mae Jordan Wright. I can't even get a good date of when she died but it is around 11 April 1904. She was born 16 Nov 1870 in Wabash Co, IN, married and lived there. After she died her husband Franklin John Wright moved to Oklahoma and remarried. For some reason she in not buried with the rest of the Wrights in Serbia, IN but was moved to the Jordan family cemetery in Wayne Co. The state can't locate a death certificate for her because I can't give the state a good date of her death. If I can find her burial site it should have the date and I can proceed from there. Thank you so much for helping me w/this family mystery. Below is info on where the Jordan family cemetery is. It is in Perry Township.
