Elizabeth Patience (Keever) Northern 71 I live in beautiful Brown Co. My dad, and all of us children were born in Hagerstown, Wayne Co., In. Same house. We moved to Indianapolis in 1936 then to Morgan Co. in 1947. I married there then moved my children to Brown Co. I have 2 daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Northern) Mufti who now lives in Pleasanton, Ca. and Jennifer (Northern) Hablewitz who lives in Bothel, Wash. Jenny has a grooming shop in Seattle, "Personal Touch Pet Grooming" that has been very successful. She puts my efforts to shame. However with pet grooming I was able to raise my girls. I have no degree however I took some classes in small business and Writing. Hobies: painting, oil and watercolor. Writing, music, and I guess collecting musical instruments as I seem to have several. (: raising Main Coon cats (faizing out) and maybe border Collies. no puppies yet!!! I am the genealogist in the Morgan Co. Public Library. Will do lookups. (: Not much travel, to Fla. a couple of times and Ca. lots of times. To Grayson Co. Va. where my mother was born twice. I need to go back again. Connection to the list: My dad was Chester Earl Keever born in Hagerstown. His mother was Tina Replogle. It appears they were not Scotch German but Irish and French. The Keevers came from Pa. to Ohio then Wayne Co., In. There was a town in NC called Keever. The Keever cemetery still exists. I have not been there but would like to connect with that line. They begin with the same names and area. Possibly through Michel Keever??? Mom's parents, John and Polly Coomes migrated to Indiana from Grayson Co., Va. about 1910-11. They lived in Economy and are buried in the Friends cemetery. There are Keevers there too. She has Fields family in Wayne Co. but I have never met them. She could, maybe, be related to the Davises from Va. in Wayne Co. too. Haven't found the connection. Patience
Jacque, Any connection to Esther (1788-1872) that married John Wagner and ended up in Louisa Co., Iowa? They had a son, Isaac Madsen Wagner that went to California in 1852. Instead of just putting your family line people listed various things about themselves for example: name age where you live places you have lived family members alumnus hobbies favorite food occupation pets places you have traveled places you would like to travel your connection to the list Some people are brief in their answers and others are more lengthy, but it has been a lot of fun "getting to know" who others on the list are. Hello Listers, More updates on GenFest. As usual, please pass this along to anyone you think might be interested in attending. The Civic Theater opportunity has been cancelled. Not enough people were interested to warrant a special production expense. New additions to GenFest: More door prizes! More Exhibitors: Continental Chapter of S.A.R. Paul Revere Chapter, D.A.R. Sons of Union Veterans (will be playing some CW music!) Sons of Confederate Veterans United Daughters of the Confederacy The Tom Telegraph Chapter of the Children of the Confederacy 50th Virginia Re-enactors African American Genealogy Group Miami Valley, OH African AMerican Genealogy Group Indiana African American Genealogy Group of Indianapolis Rob Jeffs, Irish/English research tips, photos of an Irish famine ship. Remember! Bags and briefcases are not allowed into the Local History & Genealogy Center. Lockers are available or you may use a clear-vue bag or tote. I saw some nice ones made for crafters at Wal-Mart and at Hobby Lobby. They'd be ideal for files or laptop. Once again, make use of your digital cameras (or 35MM) to copy documents and pages from books. I've even seen very successful photos taken from microfilm viewer screens. The Civic Theater offer of a special presentation has been removed. We didn't have enough people interested to make it cost effective. Some of the hotel/motel room blocks have become dated, some moved forward. Be sure to check those if you plan on using that type of facility. If you plan on camping, please check out the great deal at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. There will be a registration book where you can leave a list of surnames you're researching and leave contact info. At the same time, you'll register for door prizes and get your gift bags full of little goodies and coupons. More to come soon! Shirley Pearson a.k.a. From: "LeRena Stump" <lerstump@nwinfo.net> To: <WAYNE_IN-L@rootsweb.com> Subject: [Wayne Co Ind] Wayne County, Stumps I am looking for the grave site of Leonard (died between 1805-1820) and Mary Stump, (she died about 1821) and their son John (who I believe was a blacksmith in Wayne County, he was born about 1794, death unknown.) I have been led to believe that they died and were buried in Wayne County. Their place was in the Gore. Can anyone confirm this. I live in Washington State and have no way of traveling the distance, so I would appreciate any help I can get. Thank you LeRena Stump
Researchers, Is there any one on this mail list who has info on the above cemetery? I am trying to confirm a 1908 burial for: Beltyshazer COON (b. ca 1875). He was the husband of Lucinda Theresa TIMMONS (b. ca 1877). Perhaps, Lucinda Theresa is also buried at this cemetery - if so, she died after 1910. Thank you for any help with the above surnames, Sharon
