Surnames: Aiken Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5BC.2ACE/1070 Message Board Post: Jim & Lizzie Aiken use to live about 1 mile from my house back in the 1930s-1945. He lived along Splatter Creek, on the way to a small community that was called either Jockey or Clear Springs In Greene Co. TN. Jim had the only car back than an was so-to speak the taxi for families in the area. I was 5 or 6 when I took my first ride with him to Greeneville, TN. Also, he took families that were sick to the doctor (nearest) office in Limestone, Wash. Co. TN. Families in the area were without lights, autos, only horses & wagons, raised tobacco crop (money crop), home garden veggies, fruits, raise own beef cattle, milk cattle and chickens & hogs for eggs, milk, poultry and meat. That was real depression era time. When we left Splatter Creek for a small community called Chuckey we lost track of Jim & Lizzie. I suppose they are buried in a cemetery in or near Walla Walla. Any info will be appreciated. G. W. Agnew Columbus, OH
