I know this is not exactly genealogy, but I do believe heritage events help deliver us to our roots and thusly I am passing on a note for all of you who are in southeastern Washington state or Northeastern Oregon and whose ancestors came here and lived in the 1880's-1910's as cowboys in this great land. This Saturday, September 24th from 3:00-9:00 at Sacajawea State Park in Pasco! Presented by the Washington State Parks & Recreation Commission along with Northwest Folk Life present a day of Cowboy Poetry and Music! Parking is $5.00 a car load so load up the vans! There is no fee to get into the event. Line up includes: Northfork (Sharon Glenn and George Thomsen) of the Yakima Valley They perform cowboy and cowgirl poetry and song Dick Warwick of the Palouse He performs Cowboy & Aussie stockman poetry and song Bodie Dominguez of Clarkston Cowboy, Western & Mexican Ranchero songs Justin Booher of the Tri-Cities Cowboy song, poetry & fiddling What a lineup! Besides these greats, don't forget that Sacajawea State Park has the "Fiddlin' Park Ranger"
