A quick way to read the microfiche is just skim from obit to obit. You can interlibrary loan microfiche, just ask your reference librarian at your local library how that is done. Washington State has some new enhanced library features online, have a discussion with your librarian and as about Heritage Quest or Pro Quest service which is free census access only at your library. Use an internet search telephone directory to find names of businesses in the yellow pages, i.e., funeral homes. They keep records forever, respond quickly and give maps and who paid for the funeral etc. quite interesting. Write a letter with a SASE enclosed.
