My mother was born in Walla Walla in 1906. She went to school ( St Vincents Academy) with a girl named Petronella. It was such an unusual name and my mother spoke of her fondly. I may even have some old school pictures of her, if it is the same girl. It really doesn't answer your question, but if it is of interest to you, I will look thru my Mom's old album and double check.
