Gerkings have had a continuing presence in Walla Walla County since the 1860s, so I'm posting here in hopes someone might be able to help identify the pictures. Printed on the back of one photo of two women is "Tallman Drug Co., Walla Walla Wash." Links to the photos and photo post cards are here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~athena/ . The Gerking Family Reunion group would be grateful for any help in identifying the pictures. Please post here on the board or send email if you are able to identify any of the pictures. I was surprised by the number of obituaries there were in the Walla Walla paper so early in the century. It seems most of them though were for people who lived in Walla Walla. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5BC.2ACE/965 Message Board Post: Ebert Chapman had a homestead claim near Dixie. He and his family are listed in the 1880 census there and I have the cemetery listing for him and his wife, Mary. He died 28 Jan 1919. Ebert is not with his family in the 1910 and I can't find either he or his family in 1900. Is there someone who could look up an obituary for me? Is there anyone who does courthouse research in this area? I would like to see if there is any probate or other records for this family. A map of the area would be welcome. Let me know of any charges. Thank you for listening.
