My grandfather's brother died there in the 50's his name was Roby Silas Norris. I don't remember anyone ever saying anything about him ever marrying. His parents are buried in Oakesdale Washington. I don't if maybe his would have been taken there, I know that he is not listed in the cemetery. Any help would be very helpful. Thanks Rachel Keller

They may be from Huck Russia which is where the Sittner who Sittner Hall is named after is from-at least the family was. My husband is a Sittner from Huck-his great grandfather Conrad Sittner was born there in 1836. His wife and children came to the US in about 1872 after he died. I notice that you Sittners came over later in 1912 according to the 1920 Census.

There is a reference book called Newspapers on Microfiche that gives you the names of all the old papers from a region. Do not wear yourself out looking at microfiche!! But this will give you a clue of what microfiche to order from your reference librarian at your library on INTER LIBRARY LOAN. Ask your reference librarian what this is and the process for getting other books and records that are not in your library. Ask your librarian about Heritage Quest to search for census records for free on the internet. If you have a PIN number and log onto your local library to hold books, this might be a service you can access from your home computer via your personal library. Also, the downtown Spokane library buys all the CD's that Ancestry.com offers on the internet (they hide them), maybe your library does or will do that upon request. Never hurts to ask! -----Original Message----- From: Juvanne Martin [mailto:juvanne@earthlink.net] Sent: Sunday, October 02, 2005 9:12 PM To: WAWALLAW-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [WAWALLAW-L] early newspapers I am trying to dind out if there were early newspapers in the Walla Walla Valley.
