Lyn, Try the GEN-FR-L list. This is a mailing list for people researching French & French-Canadian families. With the information you've got, I wouldn't doubt that you'll get Jean-Baptiste's complete lineage back to France. French-Canadian record-keeping was done thru the Church, and most of the records have been published, in one form or another. The list is medium-high traffic, so get ready to use your 'delete' key. About 1/2 of the messages are in French. BTW, that's Montmagny, Quebec. ;-) GEN-FR-L is a Rootsweb list, so send an e-mail to GEN-FR-L-request@rootsweb.com with NO subject line and only the word subscribe in the body of the message. Do NOT sign it, delete any signature files you use, v-cards, etc. Hit the Send key. You should get a Welcome message in 24 hrs. Hope this helps! Happy Hunting!
