Hi! Have you tried looking up their entry in the Germans to America Volumes? That would give you the date of departure from whatever port, date of arrival in whatever port, who traveled together, where they were from, what their destination was. Once you receive that you can order a copy of the passenger list from the National Archives. http://www.nara.gov/ will give you more information than I could in this message to you. Also try searching out any naturalization papers for him. That will give a bit of information about him also. The National Archives would have information on this topic also. *IF* he has a SS#, you may try getting a copy of his SS-5, (application for a SS#). Being that he would have had to filled it out, it would have the most correct information on there for him such as place of birth, date of birth, parents, etc...
