The first Norwegians(mostly from Telemark) came to Waupaca County in the 1850's. Thor Helgeson, an itinerant teacher, wrote a book called "Fra Indianernes Lande" about this area. It was translated by Malcolm Rosholt. I have a copy and would be happy to do look-ups. It has an index.
