    2. Hello All! As promised (or threatened) the new postings have begun for Oconto County, WI, October Anniversary Celebration. http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioconto/ There is New site search engine - since there are thousands of surnames and places on the present Oconto County WiGenWeb site, you can now check to see if what you are looking for is present. Updated every three days, so come back often. 1. 1912 County Plat Maps - Find the land your ancestors owned. Has surname, number of acres, and human dwellings marked (now you can find the old homestead). The original old schools, cemeteries, churches, town halls, and roads are marked but not labeled, so you can reference them on the cemetery and church pages on the site, which have present locations. Half are online, the rest will be so in the next two days. Happy hunting. 2. St Michael/St Mary Cemetery - Town of How. The oldest two- thirds of the cemetery gravestones have been transcribed, including all legible inscriptions. German inscriptions are transcribed in German with an English translation. Goes back to the late 1800's. 3. Lots more old and new obituaries, with several dozen more to come within the next few days. 4. New and very interesting early families account added to the Early Upper Great Lakes Families page. Ane more will be coming every few days. Come and have some fun.
