Hello everyone and a thank you to all who responded. However, I made a typo on the date 1995. It should have been 1895. Sorry. >From my grandfather down I have all the descendants down through the third generations. I have made contact and I am waiting for the updates. My grandfather spelled the name La Meres. Not to many La Meres. I am tracing my ggrandfather through census and birth of his children and his marriages hoping I can get closer to the spelling of how the original name was spelled in Canada. But so far no luck. I searched twice in Canada, and they do not have a birth record of William La Mere. So, I am open for suggestions on how the name would be spelled in French. In the US the name was spelled as it sounded to whomever was doing the recording. Thanks again to Paul, Ruth, Nancy and Bob. If I left anyone out, thanks to them also. Etta
