Hi Anne, I read your message about Chater/Cheyes. I could not find these surnames or varinats in Tanguay, Lussier/Drouin, or Jette's book. I they are French names, I am sorry I could not find anything near where these names would be that resembled CHATER/CHEYES. Any suggestions of different spellings/aliases I could look up for you?
