He lived in Lena, owned the Smits Hotel or Maple Valley Hotel, which was sold to Able Netzer in the 1940's. It later burned down and a gas station is on the corner. He died around 1933. He was married to Helen Mathey. They had four children Lilllian, Edna (my mother) Howard and Jack. I think he had brother and sisters that lived in DePere or Oconto. If I could even find something about my grandmother. She had brothers and sisters. But Anton Mathey lived in Lena and owned a store. He had sons Peter and John and daughter Stella who married R.Rosery(spell?) I also was born in Lena in 1931 but only visited every summer and lost track of everyone when my grandmother moved with us. I have many fond memories of Lena and all the friends I made there and wonder about them too. I live in Pittsburgh, PA so don't know how to contact anyone for information.
