    3. Hello Patti Well if you ever get the actual marriage record, I am sure some of us could help from that point . It is a very interesting story. When women died young it is much harder to trace, but you have record sources you can start from. 3. A hint for Waugh searchers in and around Gallia, OH…. I believe my husband’s 5th GGF was John Waugh, who married Augusteen Duduit abt 1800. Augusteen Duduit was one of 13 children of Guillaume Duduit and Agnes Desot who were documented members of the French Five Hundred… a fascinating story about people fleeing the ravages of the French Revolution, sold the 1790 version of Florida swampland. Because John Waugh and Augusteen Duduit had so many children (few are documented together as siblings, but you can patch the findings together based on the same parents and different birth years) there are many Waugh lines that lead back to Gallia and the tri-state area of OH, WV, and KY. My husband’s own family went from OH to KY and then WV. Do some searching for documentation on the Duduit family connected with the French Five Hundred. The name has been mangled enough that you can also search for Didway and several other spellings, but you will find Waugh’s connected and many French given names among them. My husbands 3rd Great Grandfather dumped his first name when he enlisted in the 2nd Kentucky CSA as a private, for his parents had named him General Lafayette Waugh… there are not a few Napoleon’s and Zaire’s (females).
