Waugh was born in Oneida County in 1814. He married, first, Esther B. Sayers, by whom he had one daughter, Phebe M. Mrs. Waugh died in 1840, and in 1845 he married Miss Emily Stevens, of Philipsville, Canada, and they had eight children, six of whom survive, namely: Julia A., Emily A., Henrietta M., Lyman G., Amy L., and Leonard A. Henrietta M. married Andrew Fort, of Stone Mills, and they have had two children--a daughter who died in infancy, and a son who survives, viz.: Chester G. Leonard A.
