She was born about 1775. I don’t have a date of death. She was the supposed daughter of John Erwin and Jane Brown of Salisbury, Rowan or Iredell County, NC. She was the wife of John D. Waugh (21 Sept. 1770 in York, PA.– 24 Dec. 1837 in Iredell County, NC). I’ve seen in records compiled by other genealogists that John Erwin and Jane Brown had about four sons, but I haven’t seen any daughters. John Erwin’s grandmother was named Isabel, so this lends support that this Isabel was his daughter. Any help would be appreciated.

You might search on www for colt history. There will be someone with a listing of serial number ranges and dates of manufacture for those ranges. Do not however share the complete serial number. For example if the serial number is 12345 give the number as 123XX as this will protect you from a possible false claim or other scam. Additionally it used to be possible to contact the Colt Mfg Co and for a small fee, find out the dates of shipment from the Colt factory, and to what merchant the weapon was sent.

After 1900 there's a proliferation of Raymond Waughs and 25 of them appear in the 1930 census.
